4WDGrid just got a major upgrade. This release introduces a new Feed, a rebuilt Garage, member discovery, improved profiles and clearer navigation throughout the Home area. You’ll also find improved privacy and discovery controls, richer vehicle records and photos, and stability fixes across the app.

Factory specs, confirmed by you. 4WDgrid now researches your rig's factory equipment and shows what it finds on your rig profile — confirm what's right, correct what isn't, or mark gear you fitted yourself. When you edit a part like a diff locker, a quick "Factory fitted?" yes/no records it accurately, and factory gear never uses one of your upgrade slots. Your Build Score reflects the truck you actually drive. Keep It Current: the Garage now lets you know when your odometer reading or logbook entries are going stale, so your rig's record stays trustworthy. Settings gains Check for App Updates — fetch the latest fixes on demand, with a plain answer about whether you're up to date. Plus stability fixes and interface polish throughout.

Home & Branding • Today tab redesigned into an adventure hub. • New 4WDGrid mountains wordmark across the app, updated splash art, and a polished sign-in / sign-up screen.

4WDGrid 1.8.6 — What's New Maps & POIs (the big one) Points of interest are back — and better than ever. We found and fixed two separate bugs that could leave the Explore map empty: map layers silently failing to draw on the Outdoors/Streets/Satellite base styles, and a loading race that cancelled POI downloads on busy maps before they finished. Track clusters, the community heatmap and famous tracks are all reliable again, and viewport track loading is dramatically faster (previously it could time out entirely on wide views). The POI catalogue has also grown massively. Four categories that were previously empty are now fully stocked Australia-wide: Drinking Water (10,000+ points), Lookouts (7,800+), Showers (1,800+) and Dump Points (600+). There's a brand-new Picnic & BBQ category with 2,300+ national-park picnic areas, BBQs and shelters, each flagged with what's on site. Duplicate fuel pins have been cleaned up — one pin per servo now. POIs use a focus model: pick up to two categories at a time (defaults: Free Camps + Fuel) so the map stays readable. Recording The recorded track line, follow-me line and navigation bearing line now render correctly on every base map style. The SOS slider is fixed. Trip share images have a fresh terrain-and-pins look. Tracks & Achievements Track completion matching now actually works — finish a mapped track and you'll get credit for it (completion is measured against how much of the track you covered). The badge system has been rebuilt: a visible badge catalogue with ~34 hand-drawn icons and tier rings, 7 new earnable badges, proper award notifications (in-app + push) and confetti when you earn one on a trip save. Ranks are now driven by your trips and kilometres. Home & Social Home is now four tabs: Today · Forum · News · Alerts. The social stream (compose + Everyone/Following) lives in Today. Alerts is a searchable list of park closures and warnings. Forum category chips display at full height and forum search works. Rigs & Profiles Your rig page leads with a positive Build Identity card — what's fitted and what's next, with no public put-downs. Full assessments are owner-only, and spec chips + odometer are hidden from visitors. A public "About this build" blurb appears on rig pages and profile hero cards. Profile actions (Message/Unfollow) are tucked into a ••• menu. Look & Feel The app is dark-first, while the map keeps its own independent day/dusk lighting so locking the UI dark never darkens your map. Double-splash on launch is fixed. What to test in this build (25) Open Explore on the default Outdoors map — Free Camps and Fuel pins should appear straight away, no panning needed. Try toggling Lookouts, Water, or the new Picnic & BBQ category. Record a trip on a mapped track: the orange track line should draw from the first fix, and finishing the track should award completion and any badges with confetti. If a map layer ever comes up empty, tell us where you were and what you had toggled on.
