RideAlong connects people already travelling the same way so you can share the journey and split the cost. Whether it's across town, to the airport, between regional towns or interstate, or a trip you make every week, post your seats or find a ride that matches, anywhere in Australia.
FIND A RIDE
- Search where you're leaving from and going to, with places suggested as you type.
- Browse upcoming trips with pickup points, times and the price per seat, on a list or a map.
- See each driver's profile, ratings and verification badges before you book.
- Request a seat and pay securely in the app, or arrange a direct contribution.
OFFER A RIDE
- List the seats you have spare. RideAlong suggests a fair price for the distance, and you can change it.
- Choose whether to allow luggage, pets or surfboards, with optional extras.
- Review requests, accept the riders you want, and get paid to your bank.
ON THE DAY
- Your trip on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, with a countdown to pickup, the driver and the car.
- Add a trip to your calendar, and get a reminder when it's time to leave.
- A Next trip widget, and Siri: "When is my next RideAlong trip?"
SECURE AND FAIR
- Card and Apple Pay payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details are never stored by RideAlong.
- In-app payments are held until both travellers confirm the trip is complete.
- Prices are shown in full, in Australian dollars, before you confirm.
BUILT AROUND SAFETY
- Identity and vehicle verification for drivers.
- In-app messaging so you can arrange pickup without sharing your number.
- Optional trip tracking, an in-app safety panel, reporting and blocking.
- An optional women-only travel preference for verified members.
INVITE A FRIEND
- Share your invite code. They get $5 off their first trip, and once they have taken it you get $5 off your next one.
- Credit comes off what RideAlong charges your card. Your driver is always paid in full. Full terms are in Fees & terms inside the app.
RideAlong is a cost-sharing platform for genuine shared journeys. It is not a taxi or hire-car service, and drivers are not employees. Please travel responsibly and follow local road rules.

Trips are now grouped by day, with a repeat symbol on commute trips, the seats left on every ride, and Edit and Seats buttons right on the card. Drivers can add seats to a ride that already has bookings, and change its time, pickup or drop-off: each rider is asked to keep their seat, and anyone who doesn't agree is refunded in full and their seat opens up again. Messages and chats now show each person's profile photo.
