I have used quite a few software tools to assist my writing. Some too simple, some over-complex. StoryPlanner walks that fine balance between providing the write with good functions and recording functions, without locking you in to one particular Theory of Story. Combine the MacOS app with the iOS/iPadOS version of this app and you have a highly portable and flexible writing tool. I have spent today loading up my current working projects and the clarity of the App allowed me to spot a couple of things that would need to change. Finding them early saves multiplying a problem. There is one thing I would like to see included:1. Props or Objects : In the same vein as Locations, being able to record create and assign Props or Objects would be handy. (Mrs Peacock is in the Library but has she got the Candlestick?)A 'Nice to Have' option would be to be able to import a Chapter / Scene outline as text. You can work around this by creating one or more Story Templates as Stories in the App. Overall score: full points for both MacOS and iPadOS/iOS apps. Well done guys and thank you.

It’s ok except…
Total cosy caravan fan
Hi story planner creators! When I first got the app I was super excited. Buuuuuut I was as dumb as a rock to think you can write your story AND plan it. I know can just get another app for writing, but it would be awesome if you could just write too. I was also thinking you could generate a character for the picture section because I have a hard time focusing on what they look like so one time I’ll say they have black and then I’ll say their hazel. Like I was hoping I’d the character would just slowly form as I typed. So it’d be great if you could add these to story planner instead so I don’t need millions of apps to make one story.Byyyye!

Hey there! Thank you very much for your feedback. It's really appreciated. We are working to continue improving the app and make it more and more comfortable, so we'll consider your suggestions. It would be interesting to write the manuscript directly within the app, indeed. Although there is a little trick to do it now. When you have finished planning your story, you can use the "Description" field of the scene cards to write the scenes of your manuscript directly there. You can then use Revision Mode to review the manuscript and export it from there. To learn more about how to use the Revision Mode, please check this link: https://storyplanner.helpsite.com/articles/75803-how-to-use-the-revision-mode.As for the feature to automatically generate images for your characters, that's a more complex function that would require implementing AI into the app. It's not in the pipeline for new features now, but we've added it to our users' wishlist and will consider it in the future, in case it fits. :)I hope this helps. Again, thanks for your feedback. Please don't hesitate to contact us at support@storyplanner.app for more feedback or questions. We'll be happy to assist you.
It’s Perfect! 🥰📝

Story Planner has saved me dozens of exercise books plus endless hours organising my novel’s lore in a tidy matter. The app is incredibly user-friendly and I'm so ecstatic that I purchased it.Critiques • The only issue is that app will sometimes crash. (IDK if it’s a bug or my📲)• Adding colour theme options would be sweet too
Developer Response
Thank you very much for your comment. We're glad that Story Planner is helping you with your writing.Could you please write to us at support@storyplanner.app to tell us more about the crashes? That way we'll try to understand what's going on and fix it as soon as possible.Regarding the colour theme options, do you mean more colours besides the actual ones in the app settings? If you write to us, please let us know what colours you would like us to add, and we will consider it for future updates. Thanks and happy writing! :)
Chained at the ankles
Lord Lightning
This such a promising app, but without import it is chained at the ankles and is therefor utterly useless. It was a year ago that I pointed this out and nothing has happened other than a bit of twiddling here and there. There has been little or no real increase in actual functionality in the last year, or in the year before that.
Fixed an issue with Word export when the project contained certain special characters.
