It's a great app for building vocab and grammar knowledge

I have been trying to find an app that focuses more on the grammar side for Russian and Lingvist is one of the most advanced in that regard. It helps you practise declensions, conjugations and more, which is fantastic. My only two suggestions would be: • please consider adding human narration for the sentences and words. The AI voice used for Russian is incredibly depressing and unfortunately, to be honest, I just absolutely despise listening to it. In the past I used Babbel which has human narration for all the words and phrases and it is so much better – so much that it makes it really hard to adjust to the AI narration in Lingvist. • please consider including images with phrases, vocabulary and sentences. The previous app that I used for Russian (Babbel) also has stock images for every word, phrase and vocab that you learn, and it really helps with making things stick in your mind. Those are my main two suggestions – other than that, the depth and breadth of Russian content on Lingvist is quite good.

Pretty good but not failproof

20 years ago I was fluent in Spanish after living & studying in Latin America, but have become very rusty through lack of practice.This app is pretty good at helping me get back some basic vocabulary (hopefully more advanced as I continue).My biggest gripe is that in real life there is often more than one appropriate word you could use, and usage varies from country to country... so several times I’ve been marked wrong for answering with an alternative word (eg “cirugía” instead of “operación” for “operation/surgery”). Because it increases the frequency of testing for “wrong” words, I have to keep repeating these over & over again.Despite this, on the whole a very useful app.

Worst service I’ve ever experienced

Subscribed to the app for 12 months but their system doesn’t recognize my subscription and blocked me from using by saying “like what you see, then subscribe…”. That being done, it still won’t get past that dumb message. Really crappy help support. You wait for every for pre-written response. And when you try to engage they go radio silent!! It’s now been three days without a response. Have to cancel and get a refund. Don’t waste you time with this app.
