It is so wonderful to have this service. My own GP retired after seeing him for 40 years. I found another great GP but unfortunately he has been off work for months because of personal issues and now only coming back one day a week. On the odd occasion I saw another GP to find out he’s not taking on anymore patients as he is leaving the practice in a couple of months. So it’s been a real dilemma and I get quite sick. The last few months I have been sick off and on, so much so, I’m bed ridden. To have this service has been absolutely amazing and I feel blessed. These doctors are Angels and there follow up appointments are brilliant. I’m too sick sometimes to even drive to a doctor’s clinic so this is just excellent and I now feel good and safe that there are doctors on stand by to help you within hours. I used this to get some medication for anxiety because i didn’t want to put my local medical centre at harm and also didn’t want to risk catching the virus. I signed up to this and all I had to do was put in my information and select which medication I needed. After it got confirmed it said a doctor will contact you within 1 hour. They called me about 10 mins later and asked a few question then the phone doctor approved and said the script is now at the pharmacy I selected. I went to the pharmacy and the medication was already there with my name just had to pay for it and leave. Was too easy lol. Also instant scripts did bulk billing so I didn’t even have to pay was so sweet and effortless. A++

I tried this service for some advice on medications through a consult with one of their GPs. I understand the limitations of the Doctors providing this service - however my experience was that the doctor was quite flippant with my request and instead of discussing similar medications or medications that I have been previously prescribed, I was offered a prescription for an extremely expensive medication not on the PBS. If my request were considered and other common cheaper medications were discussed or prescribed, it would have felt worth the $40 consult. However the 5 minutes of this GP speaking over me and then wishing me a good day when I wasn’t on board with the idea of an extremely expensive non-pbs medication hasn’t left me with the most positive experience of this app. Personally I wouldn’t consider using this service again - though others may have a different experience.
