The last Ten (10) years medical care has been under our family GP. Unfortunately our family GP needs to go overseas to care for family medical issues. This has left me searching for a new family GP. During my search numerous GP’s have been engaged. However due to complicated medical issues it has been very difficult to find a similar doctor providing care to the level of my former GP. I finally came across after several months locating Dr Matthew McLean of Market Street Medical Practice. Dr McLean is a very caring, thorough GP who listens intently to you as an individual. For the first time in ages of searching for a new GP it felt like I could connect as a human being with him. His attention to detail is second to none and his professional experience becomes apparent very quickly. His level of care aligns with your concerns immediately. In addition he looks not only at your medical situation now but also long term. You are definitely not a number but become a genuine patient that is recognised as needing professional and caring attention. These doctors are very hard to find as per my above testimonial. I will be sticking to Dr McLean for as long as possible. I would have no problems with recommending him to all seeking a professional and a very caring doctor. Finally I would also like to add that his medical support staff are truly helpful, sincere, diligent and reflect a very kind culture within Dr Maclean's practice. This app had a fair few ‘teething problems’ to begin with, ones that suggest its developers didn’t put enough time into crafting a process that was equally secure and easy for patients to use. The app would send a text alerting you to go into the app to make a payment (despite already having your credit/debit card attached to your profile AND requiring you to attach a card for payment at the time of booking) within a very small timeframe. If you failed to respond within that period, your appointment was automatically CANCELLED. As a person with ADHD and high anxiety, I came to dread using this app. But sometime early this year, I noticed real improvements to the app: the payment process is intuitive and efficient, and now HotDoc handles the entire booking procedure from start to finish with great aplomb. It doesn’t (& quite simply, can’t and shouldn’t even try to) replace the wonderful care and service provided by my GP’s practice administration, but I do hope it’s a tool that helps them manage their workloads as efficiently as the app now helps patients like me.

I absolutely LOVE this app. My regular doctor only works at my local clinic on Monday’s and is very popular. He is also away sometimes due to long weekends, holidays, etc and I used to have to call the clinic during work hours and try to go through his schedule, then try to fit an appointment in around my work schedule, which could be a real pain in the bum and takes up time on the phone with the girls. Now I can access HotDoc at my leisure, day or night and completely take my time choosing a suitable appointment, without having to rush a phone call during work hours. It gives me his schedule weeks ahead of time and is so easy to use. You only have to fill in your details at the start and it remembers your choices then brings them up again the next time for you. It also gets you to confirm your appointment before the day, sends a reminder on the day and adds the appointment to your calendar. All in all a brilliant and very convenient app!

Being able to see times that my Doctor is available and making a booking without waiting on the phone is a huge help in planning my day.A suggestion for future updates is the ability to cancel an appointment with the on duty nurse through the app as you can so easily do now with a Doctors appointment.I had made an appointment with the duty nurse to get my flu shot then became ill (not the flu) and needed to cancel my appointment but then had to phone the receptionist with the normal waiting period online before they were able to attend to my request.The staff on the phones are very busy all day with far more urgent matters than a simple cancellation. The ability as mentioned above to cancel a Duty nurses appointment along with a Doctors appointment would make things so much easier.
