We have refreshed the myBupa App. You can now view your cover, view claims history, make an extras claim*, update your contact details and find Bupa Members First Platinum, Members First and Partners network providers, hospitals and your nearest Bupa centre on your phone!

- View claims history
- Make an extras claim*
- Make a hospital claim (if you are an overseas student)
- Locate and get directions to a Members First or Members First Platinum Dentist, Optometrist, Physiotherapist, Chiropractor, Podiatrist; as well as Hospital or Medical specialist
- Update your contact details

* This service is currently available to customers on Combined Hospital and Extras products

NOTE: This app is not suitable for seeking medical attention in an emergency.

Works well. Can we have a card in the digital wallet & Apple Pay so we didn’t have to carry cards

App crashes at start-up


I hope that BUPA’s health insurance business systems and programming work better than this.

My view is that I will never trust important personal business such as health insurance to an organisation that can’t satisfactorily implement its own business software such as customer-facing iOS applications.


Viv, thanks for responding. My device is an iPod Touch 6 running iOS 12.4.4.

I am surprised that you have requested multiple personal id items from me such as BUPA account number etc. This is unacceptable in a public forum.

All you need to know is that the current MyBupa app crashes at startup on the system I have specified above. This is prior to entering any of my personal info. As a professional developer, your job is to now test the app using the iPod Touch 6 and the latest iOS software for this device. Once the crash has been replicated you then need to rectify the app.

Please advise the community here when this has been done. In the meantime I will review my current health insurance arrangements with a view to moving my business to an organisation that has its IT systems running smoothly.

By the way, why can’t I even pay my annual BUPA premium using the myBUPA app?

Good afternoon. Apologies for any confusion caused, your membership details can be sent over to mobilefeedback@bupa.com.au so that we can start with the investigation. While most customers can see the payment details of their policies through the App, making payments or updating direct debit details will need to be done through the desktop version for now. Extras Usage 🙌🏻

Super excited to see the extras usage is now available on the app. This was the only reason I have had to call Bupa over the last couple of years - to check the balance of my extras. App is very intuitive and placing a claim takes seconds really if it’s a regular service you are claiming. Love it!
