INTVL: The World Is the Game.
INTVL turns every walk, run or bike ride into a game played on the real world globe. The idea is simple. When you run or ride in a loop, the ground inside that loop becomes your territory. The bigger, smarter and more tactical your routes, the more of the map you hold.
Claim your territory
Every loop you complete claims real space. Other players are out there doing the same thing, so the map is always moving. You can take a new route to take new ground, or go back over an area to defend what's already yours.
Play it your way
Some people want to be the best in the world, so they chase the global leaderboard. Others care more about home turf and work to become the territory leader of their own suburb or city. Both are worth playing for, and you can switch focus whenever you want.
Hold ground, win real prizes
Every bit of the map you hold earns you entries into our competitions, where the prizes are real. The more territory you hold at the end of the competition, the better your odds.
Run and ride with clubs
Join a club and play as a team. Your territory adds to your club's total, so a good capture from you helps everyone you're playing alongside.
A feed built around the game
INTVL has a social feed where you can follow other players, see their activities, and cheer them on. It's a good way to find people around you and stay connected to other athletes around the world.
Bring your own gear
INTVL works with the devices you already train on, so your activities sync straight into the game:
- Garmin
- Suunto
- Polar
- Coros
- Fitbit
- Hammerhead
- Wahoo
We built INTVL to give a new meaning to fitness. Movement without stakes is just exercise. The world is the game. Take it.

I used to do a lot of running (sprinting, treadmill, occasional 10k’s) but I never truly enjoyed it or felt like a runner, it was always a chore. This app has since made running a game that I want to play, and that makes me want to run for the sake of running. It’s completely changed my view on it all, just through the gamification of it, and I’ve only been using it for a couple of weeks. Plus every other feature they have included and aced with this app make it a one stop shop for me to track all my runs and train for my first marathon. It really rivals the other apps out there. Keep up the great work guys.
An unbelievable asset to my running!

INTVL has been such a positive influence on my running, and I couldn’t be more thankful for it’s existence. I’m a few weeks into a half marathon training block now, and honestly feel like it’s an attainable goal for me! The plan has been sensible, whilst providing an adequate challenge! It’s full of helpful tips surrounding warm up and cool down, injury prevention and positive support in the INTVL community! A genuine investment in yourself and your goals! You’ll thank yourself later!
Really poorly programmed, sorry to say!!!!
LouisWindsor
I did an 8 kilometre loop and accidentally walked past my start point before realising and stopping so it, basically, invalidated my walk!!!!It is obviously NOT programmed to see the track comes within 2 metres of the start point!!!!Sorry, I was a programmer/analyst and this “feature” wouldn’t have passed alpha testing”!As an AI said….The programming isLazyCheapCrudeBrittleAmateur In fact it SHOULD check if the track comes within 200 metres of the start point!!!!SHODDY PROGRAMMING!!!!And another weak analysis….INTVL’s leaderboard heavily favours players in low‑density areas. In cities, territory is stolen constantly — often overnight — so urban players must walk far more to maintain the same score. The system rewards geography, not effort.I’m lucky to hold a territory for 10 hours before it is stolen from me. The leaderboard SHOULD reward area captured rather than area held….Further to this - someone in Portugal can capture 1092 square kilometres by walking 154 kilometres over 24 HOURS and retain the territory for SIX MONTHS. Someone else can “run” 266 kilometres over 47 HOURS. Whereas I can walk 13 kilometres, capture 6 square kilometres and retain the territory for FOUR HOURS before it’s stolen from me!The WHOLE concept is FLAWED! I WILL NEVER even consider buying into such a pointless App, sorry to say!I could spend, and I won’t, a year using the App and come out owning 14 square kilometres but having captured 1,500 square kilometres! Where’s the joy in THAT!?Okay! ANOTHER bug!? It shows difference between start and end as 5 metres but SAYS the difference is more than 200!!!! How stupid is That!?
Great alternative tracking app
Jordi_Bear
The app works fairly well for what it is, and is a great alternative to Strava if you don’t have it or don’t like it. The gamified experience is enjoyable even as a Strava user, it’s just satisfying to take the area that I can. The competitions are the main incentives to keep going with chances to win solid prizes, and that’s just as a free user. I don’t think the coaching tool is that great, it may be good for beginners, but not so much for experienced runners. I also find some things don’t work properly for levelling up your profile, such as liking posts, polls, etc, they don’t seem to track properly on my profile. Overall it’s a solid app and quite enjoyable, I’d recommend it to anyone wanting something fun and different especially if they don’t like Strava, this is a great alternative, but not good enough to replace Strava in my opinion.
• Runs recorded with poor GPS signal now keep your full route
• Training plan runs are properly credited to your scheduled workout - including runs recorded offline
• Fixed incorrect pace, speed and elevation figures in miles
• Edit an activity's name, photos and visibility straight from the map
• a stack of smaller UI polish fixes
