Ratings and Reviews
Write your own music
Great app, improvements have been good over the time I've had it.
Finally I can write my own music and lay it out in a way that suits me. Print it off and play it. I’ve been dreaming of this since uni in the 80’s
Nice PDF output.
This is one of three of these musical notation apps that I use. This one is easy to use and quite fast. I don’t use the one flick entry method as it has a keyboard for typing in notes. This works very well. It is a shame there is no guitar (or other) fretboard note entry system. Strangely when you are asked to choose your note entry method there is no mention of the keyboard method.
I have found nearly everything I need but of course there is no guitar specific notation like hammer ons and so on.i can write text over the top of the music for any of this stuff.
I was pleased that it plays back the guitar music an octave lower than written, as usual for guitar music.
My only criticism is the music is in a continuous scrolling line when editing. A page view would be a great addition especially for long pieces making copying and pasting easier.
Anyway despite the suggestions above I like this app a lot. Between the three I have I can always get the job done.
Sheet music writing enters the 21st century
This is excellent and very intuitive. On my first attempt, I easily copied a treble score for a Schottische, added a bass stave, copied the treble score to the bass and transposed it down an octave for the bass recorder. If like me, you've struggled to master the 1980s interfaces of Finale Notepad for Mac and Notation Composer for Windows, this is for you.
It's not perfect - I had minor difficulties with moving notes as it wanted to add additional ones - but maybe I just need some practice. I had a query about transferring the music from the free to the paid version, but I got a quick and clear response to my email request for assistance.
