KODAK Smart Home 4+

Loved this monitor the entire time until it was almost 1 year old and now I’m having constant issues.
1. being that the monitor is no longer notifying me when motion is detected even though all correct setting are on to allow notifications.
I have logged reports with no reply.

2. It’s now started telling the there is a connection error when I log in and it’s unable to connect to wifi even though everything says connected/working . Even after trying to reset monitor etc nothing .
So now it is only able to be used in ‘offline’ mode which is extremely frustrating as I cannot see baby on the monitor unless I’m home with the parent unit .

It’s such an expensive monitor compared to others and went with this knowing Kodak was a quality brand - I also brought x2 more Kodak Cherish systems as gifts for others which I now regret.

Which is so upsetting as picture quality and everything else was great.

I have this app for the baby monitoring system,
I want to start with the positives first,
I love that I can watch my little one from my phone and I can (most times) open other apps while still having audio running in the background.
It’s great especially when I’m out somewhere and he’s being looked after by a family member i can still check on him while away from home.

I guess the cons would be, the background audio switches off anytime I get into an app such as Facebook or TikTok or playing games on my phone.

The second bad thing is that recently my app has stopped notifying me when it detects movement/motion even though all the settings are set to allow notifications on both my mobile device settings and the app settings this just happened all of a sudden.
And when I did used to get those notifications pop up I would click on it and the whole app would take forever to load then malfunction and freeze up or it would sit there loading for ages in the time it’s taken me to just go in to check and come back out again it would still be trying to load and so I’d have to hard exit and get back into it again.

Have had this for two years now and the battery has been faulty on the parent monitor ever since we got it. We’ve now had to completely remove the battery and constantly have to have it plugged in.
The screen does not automatically turn on when baby makes noise, the volume button is dodgy and is always turning all the way down, twice now our child has been crying and we haven’t been woken due to the faulty unit.
We liked that we could use the app when away from home or when the parent unit was broken (often) but ultimately this is just a cheap product that’s overpriced.
