Why you SHOULD use powerpoint slides

I have used Microsoft Powerpoint since the wee old age of 5, being introduced in my first year of schooling. Now coming to a closing on my education, ready to start a new chapter, I am proud to say Microsoft Powerpoint has remained a loyal companion to me. The different transtions, formats, and fonts have allowed and encouraged me to strive for my best during presentations. Getting me that A mark I use my blood, sweat, and tears for. I hope you continue to aid our young minds and encourage the growth and adaptation of the use of technology in through our education.

A good presentation tool. Design and compatibility issues

I appreciate having this on the app store.
The styles however look dated and it would be good to have backgrounds which covered a wider range of techical styles (eg: electrical circuits, steampunk design, drafting backgorunds etc. Same goes for the image options - eg: different edge and 3D effects).
Over the years it has taken on a number of the better attributes from Apple Keynote (images snapping in line with text boxes, better function with a touch interface (iPad version etc), which is a bonus.
On the downside, I have had serious issues with compatibility at scientific conferences when presenting: despite saving for compatibility with the most recent version, trying to present a slideshow made in Mac Powerpoint on a Windows computer badly muddled the formatting and presented font errors depsite using the standard font from the powerpoint 'style' being used. Only saved by having an adaptor to use my own Macbook when presenting. Room for improvement.

TERRIBLE UPDATE

This latest update has been the worst, it blurs the images and apparently once it's been saved there's no turning your images back to it's previous quality. I was so devastated to find my images blurred after hours of work when I came back to reopen the document the next day. It rendered all my work the day before a big waste of time, and I had no choice but to re-work on the images. Sometimes it blurs your picture right after you've edited it, and other times it doesn't, so I'm pretty sure there's something glitchy here. I already did a google search on turning this option off but the steps just don't show up on my version, so all I can do is hope it doesn't blur my pic the next time i open it. In the first place, data really shouldn't be discarded like this without the user's permission, so please fix this, never had this prob before this update.
