Needs context search. Fix sync issues.

App works very well, but when flicking through music folders, it could use a context search to more quickly target the music required, or maybe an alphabet list down the right hand side. Scrolling a large number of folders is tiresome where there are many folders and prone to selecting folders in error.

Syncing between base unit (CRX-N470) and a pair of stereo-linked WX-021 satellites is fraught. There is a second delay between the base and the satellites, and even on the occasions where the sync is fine, it drops out of sync after a minute or so.

It kinda works

It will control the music on an MXA-50 but I was surprised how even adjusting the volume control to find the volume was SO DIFFICULT! With the link control set to Speed Boost and Volume Fade Control off adjusting the volume was like pushing string. The volume level would change if you’re lucky. It doesn’t help that the physical volume knob on the MXA-50 was programmed to have the same disconnect with reality. Turn it and nothing happens. Flick it and it goes too far. The information screen shows that there are 161 increments 30deg(!!!) of knob turned normally to move up just one increment. So the knob needs to move at least 720deg before anything really happens unless you move it fast.

But if you move down it the increments go faster every 30deg. You’ll NEVER find the level you thought you had turning it back the other way. Pushing string on the most fundamental control we need the volume!!!!!!

Yamaha, we know you can do better than this. At least install a counter knob that isn’t as coarse as 30deg.

Clever but unreliable at parties . It’s complicated!

I wish I could give music cast more stars as it had so much potential. Unfortunately music-cast can crash and forget the devices connected. I have used Music cast for 5 years and it seems to stop when music is most require such as in the middle of a party or just as your serving up at a dinner party ! So I run a backup hi-fi with less connectivity next to the Yamaha receiver. Have tried multiple options and resets including Bluetooth and the WiFi connection it no long term solution. More people and devices in the room probably mess with connectivity so I suggest use the system but have a backup. There are alternatives - l have considered Sonos but already invested in a large 4 speaker and subwoofer Yamaha system so why should I have to change?
