Ratings and Reviews
There are too many redirections to the web version
The synchronisation is good and the overall funcionallity is fine, the service is awesome, but the app is not complete as it takes you too many times to the web version to perform some day to day operations, as for example the more advanced sharing options, and it is too slow. Also, the menu that pops up when you click the menu bar icon is somehow web-made as well, and it is as well slow. That kind of menu doesn’t add any value. Please do a proper Mac app, having true local screens and panels, and a proper menu for the Mac.
Syncing with shared folder is appearing as .url
I had a folder shared with me, and I could fully sync it to my own mac - all the office files were available offline on my own mac (word, excel, ppt). It appeared as a folder in Finder in the Onedrive folder.
Since yesterday the shared folder has disappeared from finder, and all the files are no longer on the mac. They don't show up in a spotlight search. The folder has been replaced by a url that opens the shared folder online.
The folder is fully available when I access Onedrive through the web.
I can also open the shared files on Onedrive through the native Mac apps, if they appear in recent files, or browse to "Online locations", but these only show the recent locations that I had accessed through finder. I can't browse the entire folder through an app.
I have tried the following:
- restarted the Mac
- Signed out of Onedrive and signed back in again
- Uninstalled and reinstalled Onedrive
- In the web Onedrive I have clicked "add shortcut to my files". This places a url to the oneline folder in finder, which is useless.
- Reset Onedrive via "Show Package Contents", etc....
Happening on both Mac M2 Air and Macbook Pro Intel, both have current versions of SW for both Mac and Office.
Crashes all the time in MacOS
I am running the latest versions of everything, yet OneDrive continues to have significant syncing issues. Recently, all my files were deleted locally, forcing me to reset and reinstall everything. Even after that, clicking on the gear icon crashes OneDrive, and it often stops functioning altogether.
At times, I am prompted to reinstall, only to face issues with my account not being recognized. The only solution seems to be deleting and reinstalling the entire OneDrive package repeatedly, which is both time-consuming and frustrating.
Microsoft, we are paying for licenses and expect a reliable service. This is far from acceptable. What options do we have when even basic functionality fails? How would you feel if a product you paid for did not work as promised?
