Description

Team up and take down the opposition in Pokémon’s first 5-on-5 strategic team battle game!

Join Trainers from around the world as they head for Aeos Island to compete in Unite Battles! In Unite Battles, Trainers face off in 5-on-5 team battles to see who can score the most points within the allotted time. Teamwork is key as you and your teammates defeat wild Pokémon, level up, evolve your own Pokémon, and work to prevent the opposing team from scoring points. Put your teamwork to the test, and take home the win!

Key Features:

• BATTLE IN STYLE: Take to the field while looking your best in Holowear! Thanks to a special technology developed using Aeos energy, Trainers can deck out their Pokémon in a variety of holographic outfits—with new styles arriving regularly!

• UNITE MOVES: Unleash the true power of your Pokémon with Unite Moves! Leverage these all-new Pokémon moves, which are only possible while in Unite Battles, and turn the tide of even the direst situations.

• RANK UP: Looking to prove how skilled you are? Participate in ranked matches, and earn points as you climb up the global leaderboard!

• COMMUNICATION IS KEY: Even the most-skilled Trainers recognize how important communication is to their team’s success. Leverage signals, quick-chat messages, and—for the first time in a Pokémon title—voice chat to communicate and stay in sync with your team.

• CROSS-PLATFORM PLAY: Challenge Trainers from around the world to Unite Battles on the Nintendo Switch™ system or on a compatible mobile device thanks to cross-platform support. Trainers may use their Pokémon Trainer Club account or Nintendo Account on both Nintendo Switch and mobile to easily keep their progress synced between devices.

Great game!

Pokémon Unite is an addictive game that is suitable for essentially all ages. The modes are fun, and, considering the fact that the game has to follow the theme, quite diverse. It is actually limited to very few options in adding in game modes if it wants to follow the overall style of gameplay. There are plenty of rewards to collect, and the game offers a very broad selection of customisations and Pokémon. From reading the other reviews, it is said to be ‘p2w’— I disagree. Coming from a free player, I have been selected as MVP in matches multiple times, yet I haven’t spent a dime. You can play the game fine so long as you make the right choices selecting a Pokémon you think fits best with your play style. The controls are pretty self explanatory. I mean, there are only 4 or 5 basic buttons you have to manage. Most of the time, you can just spam the skill buttons and kill people. I’m honestly not sure what people are on about when they say the controls are ‘too hard’. To end it off, I’d like to just say that the graphics are just spectacular. For a multiplayer game, it functions smoothly and cooperatively. There are no glitches nor lags. The only problem I have are internet issues, though that probably comes from my end rather than being the game’s fault. Keep up the good work, Pokémon Company!

Balance is key

So there is some controversy about this game being pay to win. It definitely is not, you can play this game and win without spending anything. However, this game is still trash. The gave developers don’t care about the player base, they rarely release balance patches and the ones they do release are full of half arsed nerfs that don’t do anything in the long run and nerfs to already bad Pokémon. At the time of writing, the following Pokémon have been running rampant in the game for a very long time and the developers have not done anything to solve the issue, for months at this point: broken Pokémon are mew, mime, glacion, Gengar, with several others being very powerful compared to lackluster Pokémon that have basically never received buffs in their entire existence. I loved this game, I really did, until I released that the devs are not doing anything influential with this game. If something doesn’t change soon then Pokémon unite will die. So play dying game if you want, I don’t really care at this point.

It’s not p2w pay2win at all.

Free players get so many freebies. There truly isn’t much that you can get by paying. The ceiling limit for stat boosts is kind of pathetic and players who pay don’t actually pay for much, just a faster process because every free eventually gets there (or very close). Biggest thing that money gets you is probably Pokémon but you get so many free ones anyway or tons of free coins everyday/week to get 1 like every 2-4 weeks…you only need like 5 Pokémon to be good anyway - who plays with 30 Pokémon equally well at Master 1600+? They only play with like 10 or so (but more Pokémon is more fun when playing casually). I know a guy who only plays charizard and hasn’t touched any other one, and he’s learned to somehow dominate everybody else - and people say charizard is tier D or E or something? This guy plays Charizard like it’s tier SS+. I don’t know how…good game though.
