Surprisingly great !

I’m delighted with the immediate response on the app when I turn on or turn off an appliance. Especially surprising is the jump in power use that shows, when I turn on any form of heater with a fan, such as the dryer or the small fan heater in the bathroom. Even the electric blanket makes a difference to my power use. I’m now much more mindful of what I turn on. Having originally thought this was a scam with dodgy people coming to the door to somehow get personal info, I now fully reverse that opinion because it is quite clear that it’s purely a very useful little device that sits on the meter box and connects to the meter, to instantly “read” my power use. That’s all it does. Nothing more or less. Information that is for me alone, to control my power use if I want to. Great.

Great bit of hardware and software

Have been using this for a few weeks now and it is probably the most stable bit of bluetooth technology I have ever used. I have had one drop out and that was only because the bluetooth feed switched over to another mobile device i was using so strictly speaking that was not even a drop out and this is in a house that is notorious for failures in blue tooth transmissions.

The accuracy of power consumption measurement seems very high and much superior to a leading clamp type meter i was using before.

Updates to power consumption are rapid even at lower power consumptions and the data is logically presented in a number of useful formats.

Additionally the facility for setting time of day tariffs is unbelievably good and is a no brainer for anyone trying to set it up. In fact you don’t have to do anything except answer some questions about your power supplier and it does it all for you.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this product to anyone – good job guys and especially as it’s a homegrown product.

Range not that good

I thought with long range Bluetooth it should connect easily from approximately 15 meters always but I find I have to wave my phone around to try to get it to connect or move closer to the device. I understand that the device range will be reduced as it’s on the outside of the house and has to pass through a single brick wall and plaster wall but range should be very good at 15 - 20 meters at least up-to to 30 Meters when the specified range is approximately 100 meters. Other than that when connected the information provided is very good and allows you to view how much power is currently being used and also history of power usage throughout the day and night. Good little device just improve Bluetooth range or make it allow to connect to WiFi and you will definitely have better range as my solar inverter does.
