Would make it so much easier to be able to do it on a big screen particularly the meal planning part and it’s especially helpful for people who have the Magic Keyboard on their iPad. It is an otherwise great app, but an iPad version of the app would be very helpful. I hope WiseList will make it a priority to introduce it.
Really want to like this app

In theory this app should be great and help you save money between the big guys, however, the user experience isn’t that good and it took my a while to even work out how to add something to a grocery list. I ended up paying for premium because I share the list with my partner, but I still get pop up ads that if I click ‘get rid of ads permanently’ takes me to a place where I upgrade to premium. I’ve messaged and sent feedback but had no response. In several places in the app you click on something and then you’re kicked out back to the home screen of your phone. For example, I had a notification and I clicked on it - hoping it was related to my feedback - but it just kicks me out of the app every time so I don’t even know what the notification is. It’s really difficult to find some products, for example if you put in watermelon it shows you heaps of watermelon flavoured items and you have to scroll through to find an actual watermelon. However, price checking in both Woolies and Coles the prices are spot on, so it’s great for that - just a shame about everything else and that it doesn’t also have Aldi

Very poor user experience

Let’s ignore the ads thing - ads are annoying but a necessity with free services. Even so, the basic service should be easy to set up. It is very much not easy to set up. Adding loyalty cards expects you to have a physical card. I haven’t carried a physical loyalty card since well before COVID. You can add your card manually, the app claims, but doesn’t accept the card number copied/pasted from the Everyday Rewards app. There are no instructions around adding items to a list that I could see. It couldn’t find items like bread or milk. I presume it wants a specific brand - but I don’t care which brand of milk I have. I care about the type of milk I have and its price. Gave up in disgust. Too painful to use.
Developer Response
Hi! We're sorry for the frustration. We've just released a major update to WiseList with a brand-new UI/UX and improved search. For loyalty cards, you can now copy and paste your barcode number directly—just make sure it is the barcode number and not the Flybuys member number. Please update to the latest version; we’d love to earn another chance!
Saves Time - then - Wastes Time

The ability to be able to sort a list alphabetically is a basic feature in any app - so it’s disappointing you don’t have it - especially when grocery lists can have over 100 products in them. Currently, you automatically categorise them according to type. I can only sort them by specials or store. The issue is, there is no consistency. This means I waste more time than your app saves me by scrolling up and down to compare similar items. For example Biozet plus eliminator laundry capsules are under the ‘household’ category - but Biozet plus eliminator laundry liquid is under ‘cleaning category’. In between is health and beauty and baby category! If I could search alphabetically I could see them side by side, which one is on special and which one is cheaper by unit price. This applies when comparing the multitude options when purchasing a 10,20,50 or 100 pack of the same product; ie finish dishwashing.
Developer Response
Thanks so much for your detailed feedback! You made a great point, and we agree that alphabetical sorting is a crucial feature for managing large grocery lists. We're happy to let you know that the ability to sort your lists by A-Z or Z-A has now been launched. Please update your WiseList app to the latest version to start using it. We hope this makes comparing items much easier for you!
