I took my girls out to the mountains today just for a drive because it was a lovely sunny day. Well I passed several petrol stations and even though I was low I thought I'd be okay, well, you know what thought did don't you sigh.. We picnicked then began heading home. I had stupidly decided to take a detour when looking for a nice place to picnic and then saw the light flashing on fuel. 🚨I had to get some fast! If I didn't have this app I surely would had been stranded so from my kids and I thank you🙏🙌 you may had saved our lives!! Why? Because not only being stranded with little fuel but driving in a panic 300mtrs up where I was going to drive, thinking it was a way out, was a cliff face, the app showed me I had to turn a different direction. I shudder to think what today may had turned out like. 😳
Whoddathunk an app would save our lives!

Hi Karen, We're loving the idea of taking a road trip and picnic with the family. It sounded like a great day and we are happy to know that the app was helpful with directions as well as showing you the nearest petrol station. If you did run out of fuel, the app also has a section to log a call for NRMA Members, so you'd never be stranded :) Keep up the road trips and know we are always here to keep you moving!
Fuel discount feedback
I read the terms and understand that all aren’t involved but after travelling for almost 6 months throughout NSW, QLD, NT & SA I found most Caltex service stations don’t know about the app discount on fuel or they don’t have the hardware and software installed or in place to read the app. Some explain “we don’t know what your talking about”, or say “we are independent” Disappointing. I understand the NRMA aren’t totally to blame but it’s very frustrating when you drive past another brand who is cheaper and then end up paying more at a Caltex you’ve been trying to locate. Every fuel saving counts when your on the road especially remote locations or country towns but I had the same problem in large country locations as well. Puma gave me the discount now and then without seeing the app. I suppose filling up 130 ltrs each time isn’t such a big deal.

I am really sorry to hear that you were not able to avail of the Caltex discount in your travels. The fuel discount is nationwide at participating Caltex locations, which are marked in red in the fuel map alongside other service stations. In NSW this is extremely handy as you can also compare fuel pricing across all service stations before filling up. Whilst in other states, pricing info is yet to be released by the state govts.
We do not have a relationship with Puma though, only Caltex locations as marked in the my nrma app or via mynr.ma/caltex. If you have however visited participating locations and did not receive the discount, please feel free to let us know the locations and if, possible a receipt to firstname.lastname@example.org. That way we can ensure Member feedback is passed onto Caltex to resolve to ensure these issues do not occur. Cheers, Paul
Way too buggy
It’s great for the basics, but clearly not tested beyond that. And I’m sure the testing was done only on the developer’s iPhone 8. Try buying movie vouchers on an iPhone X for example. There are screens where the Cancel and Done buttons are at the top and on an iPhone with a notch the buttons are behind the time and battery symbols, so you can’t tap them. There’s nothing you can do but kill the app and start again. Then halfway through putting my credit card details in the annoying pop up to rate the app appears WHILE THE KEYBOARD IS UP which means the button to dismiss is behind the keyboard. So again you’re at a dead end where you can’t do anything. Can’t dismiss the pop up and can’t continue with your purchase. Another annoyance is that even if it actually worked on an iPhone X it asks you for your membership number, name, postcode, email, etc. YOU ALREADY HAVE THAT! I am logged in to the app. Why ask me again?

Thanks so much for the feedback Slartibartfast-10. I am sorry to hear that you did not have a great experience when navigating and booking movie tickets. I can understand the frustration with what you have mentioned.
This particular benefit is managed on our behalf, by a third party site, who have recently advised that a fix was made to ensure the user experience and flow displayed correctly for an iPhoneX.
As this is a third party site, the Member validation is required before each purchase, even after logging into the my nrma app, however we do have plans to add the Member marketplace and benefits into a single view, without the double login. This is on our roadmap and will be a major update to the app via a release. We are constantly improving the app, and I am sorry the particular experience was not great.
