There are no fees associated with using the RainMachine device or the RainMachine iOS app.
RainMachine Premium Services is an entirely optional service that improves the experience of accessing the device remotely through our RainMachine Cloud Servers.
The same features are available without Premium Services subscription and remote access can be configured through Direct-Access (Port Forwarding).
The RainMachine iOS app connects your iPhone/iPad to your RainMachine hardware and allows you to control and adjust your watering cycles, change zones and program properties, set restriction, enable weather services, snooze device or pause watering.
RainMachine app allows you to interact with your garden when at home and remotely from anywhere.

Remote Access through the RainMachine Cloud Servers requires yearly Premium Services subscription, but remote access through your own internet router Direct Access (Port Forwarding) feature is free and does not require cloud servers access or any subscription.

When it’s connected (eventually) & set up its fine. Have had a display issue for ages that is studiously ignored by RM.Factory Reset will bring you no end of joy - NOT! Pity as the hardware is pretty damn good.

After doing a lot of comparisons, I purchased the RainMachine based on many facts including being able to login remotely. Now they have changed the playing field and want to start charging for it. This is not Netflix, this is an irrigation app. Obviously they got a new CEO who only operates at one speed and that’s to make money of their existing client base. You need to grandfather existing clients into the premium service and only charge new clients for it. Way to damage a brand!! Big fail.

I purchased RainMachine as it offered all features without any additional subscriptions. But greed kicked in recently and now I can no longer use RainMachine with purchasing monthly subscription.What a ripoff and shady mentality behind this business.
