Quick start app

I started using this app because I was sick of the self-congratulatory nonsense that goes along with most of the tracking apps. Who cares if I've run more than Bob this month, or whether Sharon ran up that hill faster than me? It wasn't a race! For me, RunGo is more about exploring new areas and leaving a track of digital footprints for the next runner to explore that spot. It's something the other apps don't do well, and it's why I use RunGo.

Updated review - very useful app for hands free navigation

Have loved this app for a number of years, mainly because of it’s audio functionality while out running/walking, and like to reuse routes I’ve created from time to time, since it’s time consuming creating new routes. I’ve got routes from around 5km up to about 35km, and the app always works well (apart from sometimes draining my phone battery, but I carry a lightweight charger for these instances).

The only gripe I have is that the app can be a bit glitchy when it comes to adding waypoints while creating routes; it seemingly randomly decides when to make the waypoint a right or left turn or a stop (which becomes “continue straight”). Would love the ability to set these waypoints myself, or at least override the system if it’s auto assigned label is wrong - sometimes I end up with an audio prompt to “Turn right. Turn left”. These quirky prompts can be avoided with very careful route mapping, but this takes a lot of time (often testing & undoing waypoints to get the desired result).

Developer Response ,

Oh no, very sad you lost your routes. We can assure you that routes don't get deleted unless very specifically done so by the route creator. So, we are certain they exist still for you. Please try logging out of your account and back in. Please double check you're in the same account. If that doesn't help, please feel free to reach out to support@rungoapp.com. There isn't much we can do with the information in this review alone. Also, the iPhone route creator is more basic than the route creator on the web and doesn't allow editing. For more creation and editing features, please try out the web route creator. Your routes will sync over to My Routes on the iPhone app too. Thank you.

Decent

I like it for planning where i will run.

If i know I want to run 5kms, i like to know what route in advance, so i can run and not have to decide on the way.
Don’t like the tracking feature, very clunky.
Shame you need to pay to use it. Now i’ve just reverted back to apple maps
