Hard to like

Even with the current offer of free access to this app, I find it hard to like. I've visited the adelaide website for years on a daily basis and prefer to access the content that way.
I don't want to download the entire content for the day, I just want to browse headlines and pick some one or two articles for reading. I find an RSS reader more useful in this respect since it collects news from various sources and I can read all the headlines together rather than visit an app for each source, or a website for each source.

Apps that serve one provider need to be something special, or they are doomed to fail. This app or the content it accesses isn't special enough to make it a success.

Should be an easy feature to enable in 2024?

Inaccessible - contemplating discussion with EOCSA

Through numerous updates now the errors with the comment functionality have failed to be addressed. The developers have not implemented the UITextInput protocol correctly on every text entry field within the app. This means basic built in functionality on iOS devices such as autocorrect, text positioning, text ranging, highlighting, scrolling, and more will not function. This leads to multiple flow on issues - most notably for the centre of my complain - including the inability to use basic accessibility features to engage with the application. As a direct result the developers have discriminated against users with disabilities who rely on these features to engage with written media such as those who have dyslexia, ADHD, or other cognitive disabilities.

Solution: correct the development of the application, implement the text protocols correctly and provide additional support for fonts such as OpenDyslexic.

I look forward to a response noting legal cases in recent years which have required the financial sector to take accessibility seriously in their web design. I hope this can be addressed in the next update as a matter of priority without needing to be escalated to the appropriate oversight commission.
