The Room Three 9+

I honestly can't believe the brilliance of this game. After waiting months for The Room Three to arrive, it exceeded all expectations - and I was expecting it to be seriously good. It's very hard to find words that do justice to this masterpiece.

The atmosphere is incredibly immersive, and creepy enough to get your heart rate rising as the game steadily builds towards its climax. The storyline ties up many of the loose ends from the first two games, while still adding interest by expanding in new directions. The puzzles are clever and engaging, very satisfying to solve, and although a few of them occurred more than once I still enjoyed them all. The presentation is flawless: the graphics and audio are so good that you don't even notice them, instead becoming totally lost in the world behind your screen.

For the five or six hours you spend playing this game, the surroundings beyond your device will vanish entirely and it will feel as though you really are inside this eerie place, twiddling dials and switches and unlocking doors, trying to escape from the clutches of the mysterious Craftsman. If ever there was a game that you simply cannot put down, this is it.

Such a great game! I played this following on from the 2 prequels. I love how you can move around the different rooms now, using items gained from one room in another. This was a good improvement and added to the general flow and storyline. In general, an outstanding game. I especially liked the multiple endings and additional puzzles for the truly dedicated.

My only slight criticism is that the eyeglass was not used to as good an effect as in the first game. It was always obvious when you needed to use it, whereas in the first game it was used to get clues when there seemed no way forward. In this game, it did not feel so much a tool, as an extra step that the game forced you to make for the sake of it.

Overall though, a thoroughly enjoyable game. I would highly recommend it. Please carry on making great games guys!
