Truyu is Australia's first digital identity protection tool that alerts you when your identity is being used or misused online so that you can keep what belongs to you, with Truyu.

IDENTITY USAGE ALERTS
When an identity check occurs in your name, Truyu will alert you for a majority* of ID checks that are conducted in Australia.
In the event you receive an ID usage alert, and it was not you, it could be an instance of identity misuse. Truyu will provide links and recommendations within the alert to help re-secure your information as efficiently as possible and avoid additional harm or loss.
We do not have full coverage of all ID checks, so you should use Truyu in conjunction with your normal fraud-prevention behaviours. In the event of identity misuse, Truyu provides helpful links and remediation prompts to help you resecure your information as efficiently as possible and avoid additional harm or loss.

DATA BREACH ALERTS
Truyu will also alert you if your email address(es) have been exposed in a data breach and provides proactive guidance to enhance your online security.
A data breach can leave a trail of your personally identifiable information available to a fraudster who can then exploit this data point to gain unauthorised access to other accounts. This can lead to them impersonating you online for financial gain.

We are currently in pilot and we look forward to hearing your feedback as you use the service. Truyu is a mobile application that has been built by x15ventures which is wholly owned CommBank. Truyu is in the early stages and growing fast. We continue to improve and innovate within the digital protection space and expand our merchant coverage (currently more than 60% coverage).

Limited “value for money”

I joined the trial after seeing the product appear on a News telecast. The app is created by a wholly owned subsidiary of the Commonwealth Bank which is why I decided to give it a try. The app requires some sensitive information in order to register the account and you also add in all of the email addresses you use on a regular basis. Once set up, the app checks all of your email addresses against know stolen data exploits and reports back to show where information belonging to you could be available “in the wild”.

The Truyu App is only free for the trial period after which it becomes a paid subscription. The email vulnerability information is the same as you can get from websites such as “Have I been Pwned”… etc.

The ONLY unique service it offers is the ability to alert you if someone tries to create any bank accounts using your information or if someone is trying to take ownership of your bank accounts using your info. This is a powerful feature but I’m just not convinced that it is worth the monthly subscription fee being asked (especially why Commonwealth Bank customers need to pay in the first place). Cancelling my trial for now but will keep an eye on any advances as it has the bones of a good service but its actual value for money(as opposed to its perceived value) is the biggest thing holding me back

Incredibly accurate

Jumped on this app last night and cannot believe how quickly it was able to verify my accounts. I was shocked to see the breaches of my account, going back to 2013! The app itself is so easy to use, have shared with all my family and friends. Very relevant app in this current climate

Don’t waste your time

I’ve tried multiple times and updated every week since this became available.
The first time I tried it crashed, it wouldn’t allow to register.
The second update it crashed and said to try again later.
The last time the current update it will get you through to the mobile number verification step only to be told your mobile number can’t be verified
If CBA can’t do proper Beta testing before they release an app and can’t fix it to a level to even appear to work, I can not reasonably expect that the app can do a complex task like monitoring in real time my financial affairs across multiple agencies and levels.
