I have been using Twitter for over 6 years now and it is a cross-functional platform with numerous uses. I have connected with so many wonderful and engaging individuals over the years and it’s amazing to see the invaluable work people are doing. I love to say “hi”to my followers when time permits as it is important to give back and see what they are doing ( they’re all extremely bright, creative and dedicated ) and come from all walks of life!. It’s also an invaluable platform for people engaged in animal welfare as well as environmental issues as people tweet in real time. This permits people to cross engage and help one another at great speed. The sharing of world news is also pertinent as it allows countries to quickly dissect all the bits that matter. And there’s quite a few bits on that front!. Twitter has been an incredibly reliable platform for many years that I always look forward to using. I love all the new buttons and features and I look forward to using them most of the time all the time, hopefully to enhance my work. Thankyou Twitter! A sensational platform!

The website’s war on so-called “gender ideology” means I can’t even talk about the cis-alpine Gauls without my twee-SORRY, my *posts* having their visibility limited. Apparently the new ownership of X decided that apart from throwing away all the recognisable branding, moderation/user support, and making it so that I have to block a dozen bot accounts a day (even though fighting bots was the reason the new owner said he bought it!), I can’t even talk about the Roman empire on X (formerly twitter) anymore using latin prefixes otherwise the trans people might win or whatever the hell is the thinking.The website is functional at a basic level, I still use it, but there is no denying that the user experience is significantly worse than it was before. Unfortunately no other app has been able to centralise the user base X (formerly twitter) anywhere else. Soon that may not be the case with X (formerly twitter) having 23% less daily users as compared with before the new ownership entered the picture and I’m not surprised. I give the app two stars because I can still technically use it and get the occasional moment that reminds me of the old website. Every decision that has been made by the app’s new management has only made the experience of using the app worse, the replies that people like the most don’t even appear at the top of the page anymore, I have to sift through all the replies by people who paid for a blue check. This is a *freemium* social media website, that’s how terrible it is now!

Our account was “throttled” for whatever reason by the bureaucrats at Twitter and, despite being the official account of the Apple logo designer and our agency, we continue to be shadow banned. We paid for premium, thinking this might help to authenticate us but alas, we still literally reach only 2 or 3 of our 1659 followers with posts. It’s shameful and a complete waste of time. Threads is not much better, although in 6 months we now have 2509 followers there from a standing start, so that’s something. What justification social media sites have for making you irrelevant and what they hope to gain is anyone’s guess. But now, as we seek to suspend our premium membership for its absolute lack of any value whatsoever, the app says we signed up on a different device (a phone that died) and so cannot suspend our subscription. We had high hopes when Elon ranted and raved about how he was going to make X better than the Twitter of old. Now we realize it was just spin.

Twitter censorship is destroying the platform. The reality is the majority of users will move to Parler. Parler is an abhorrent platform. Whilst I understand there must be algorithms and suspensions, Twitter has gone way too far. People from the left use this to get people off the platform. Algorithms are used to suspend accounts for saying Trump won the election. Yet no one is getting suspended for saying Biden won? In fact Twitter uses fact checkers to say Biden has when clearly there is no definitive winner yet. Also algorithms to ban accounts that have Hydroxychloroquine and cure in the same sentence. These tweets don’t need banning. They need fact-checking. The reality is even a vaccine won’t be a cure. Effective yes.. but not a cure. This shows how ridiculous the banning of these tweets are. I currently have a suspended account under review. I have never been rude or broken any Twitter rules. Unfortunately I can’t say they same for my treatment on this platform. I think I had 600 blocked. All for personal abuse. Unlike many on this platform I use my real name and location. Unfortunately that has lead me to be doxxed. The person who realised my LinkedIn details on Twitter faced no ramification. This shows the discrepancies. Hopefully this review is read and reviewed by real people and not just a computer program. Twitter is a good platform. But if decent people like myself get suspended accounts for not breaking rules many loose faith. When they loose faith they change platforms. Personally I feel this is a real challenge for Twitter going forward.Kind Regards Damon Pelham
