Watch AFL 4+

While I appreciate the chance to watch footy from overseas, for the price they are charging the app is not up to scratch. You can’t Chromecast a downloaded match, forcing you to stream even if it is a day later. There’s no high speed scrubbing to get to a specific time stamp that you want. And today, I was watching live, paused for 3 qrtr time and had dinner, when I came back the live game had finished but there was no way for me to continue watching from where I was. Instead I was forced to reboot the app several times attempting to not get the live stream (and instead get the replay), which resulted in watching ‘on the couch’ which immediately spoiled the score.
Two stars because I want to watch the footy and enjoy the ‘no score spoilers’ option, but there is vast room for improvement

I have super high speed internet here in Europe, speed we could only dream about in Australia, yet constantly the image when casting is terrible quality, and they have taken away the little icon they use to have which could choose to stay in HD. There is now no option.
When you write to them about it, they don’t even bother to respond. Also when it is a live game and you watch from the start it does not save your spot and you can’t fast forward so if you leave the game and return it keeps sending you you back to the game preview an hour earlier, this is until the live game is over by two hours.
We should be able to download the app directly to google tv or apple but they don’t have that option so you are forced to use chromecast from the phone.
Terrible, shoddy, unprofessional app, run by a very unprofessional run league administration. Yet it cost me $200 a year. They need to stop
monopolising this and bring in outside companies that know what they are doing.

I pay every year as I live overseas, but this is a poor app. Constant dropouts (my internet is rock solid and has no problems streaming anything else, so keep that excuse to yourself). Terrible interface: arbitrary jumps that I cannot control. So, after dropping out with “stream error”, I come back in and have to try to guess where the play is. Half the time it jumps 10-15 minutes into a quarter and I cannot pull it back except to 20 minutes into the previous quarter. Awful. Oh, and here’s a new “feature” this year: after so many dropouts, full time has passed, so instead of the “from start”/“from live” option, all I get is a play button. Guess what that does? Takes me to live at the end of the game, ruining any enjoyment. This has happened to two games so far. To say I’m not happy with this app is an understatement. Save your money to watch it on a laptop. For what we are paying (189 buck each!), this is really, really shoddy. I had support apologising about the poor video controls last year and they’ve done nothing to fix it.
