It is the best app for what is required: separation alert. The features are endless and give us comfort we can customize as we wish. The two main issues for me: 1) having to restart it or make sure it’s active (you KNOW Murphy’s law will make it thag the one time you loose it was when the app wasn’t active) -> I think developer still working on that. 2) False alerts: there are still too many but I know it’s better to have a few false alerts than loosing phone. But yes the loud alarm, while awesome, is also startling and makes all my family/friends laugh. QUESTION FOR THE DEVELOPER: any tips on wifi on feature not working? Live in a looooong apartment, walk from one end to the other and alert goes off. But phone is on wifi - why wouldn’t it work?
Doesn’t work.

Doesn’t work. Constantly looses pairing with watch so it can’t alert your phone. Garbage, useless product

Exactly what I was looking for!

This app works great. When I had a cellular plan on my Apple watch it would let me know it I left my phone behind. Since going non cellular with the watch, this replaces and greatly improves the functionality of separation alerts. 10/10.
Very buggy

Was hopeful with this app but…chews up battery life and…does not work well. Will be out for a walk and have my phone keeps saying that I’m away from my phone, even though it is less than 12 inches away from my watch and phone.
Phone Buddy 7.9.0 is our biggest update yet. The app has been rebuilt from the inside out over the past several months, and this release brings that new foundation to your iPhone and Apple Watch, along with support for watchOS 27 and iPhone Duo.
WATCHOS 27
Phone Buddy is now fully compatible with watchOS 27. The watch face complication has been rebuilt on WidgetKit so it keeps showing your Phone Lost Alert status on the latest watchOS. Your existing complication slots move over automatically.
NEW BLUETOOTH ENGINE
The connection between your iPhone and Apple Watch runs on a brand-new engine. Phone Buddy now remembers your watch and the state of your alerts between launches, so reopening the app while your watch is out of range no longer turns your alerts off or shows a connection error. The app simply waits for your watch to return and lets you know when it is found.
IPHONE DUO
Phone Buddy supports iPhone Duo on both screens, folded and open, and adapts live when you fold or unfold the phone. Content stays clear of the floating tab bar and system controls, and the guides and setup videos fit the open screen comfortably.
SWIFT 6 AND MODERN CONCURRENCY
This one is invisible to you, but developers will know the effort it takes to bring a large legacy codebase, full of stacked completion blocks, into modern concurrency. Phone Buddy now builds in Swift 6 language mode with strict concurrency checking on every target. About 35,000 lines of Swift written the 2020 way, where every controller was its own framework delegate, with one global app controller was reached from countless call sites, and many flavors of (Bool, String?) completion handler stood in for errors, has now been rebuilt around a shared core package: five actors, nonisolated bridges that turn framework delegates into typed AsyncStreams, a composition root on each platform, and a typed wire between iPhone and Watch in place of string-keyed dictionaries. Every piece of mutable state now lives inside an actor or a Mutex, so the bug that used to surface as "flaky Bluetooth" or a "phantom alert" is a compile error today. Our first attempt compiled clean and crashed on launch. The real one took many weeks, one controller at a time. Final tally: zero @preconcurrency, zero nonisolated(unsafe), zero Timer.scheduledTimer, and a satisfying amount of deleted code.
This update also includes general stability and performance improvements.
Thanks again for using Phone Buddy! If you like our app please consider writing a review, it really helps :).
