Herald NOW: A new way for Kiwis to watch news is now available in our App. Simply click on Watch in the bottom navigation bar and you can view the live stream 7am-9am weekdays. The live video show, hosted by broadcaster Ryan Bridge, offers audiences a fast-paced, interview-based news show.

We’re excited to launch a new way to experience the New Zealand Herald’s award-winning journalism - audio articles. By clicking on “Listen to this article” our new Text to Speech feature enables you to listen to an audio read of an article while continuing to browse other sections of the App or read different articles. *Note this feature requires iOS 16 or higher to experience on your phone.

In version 7.2.0 of the NZ Herald App, we introduce auto-refresh of our content pages. After a period of 15 minutes, any section that has been previously viewed will now automatically refresh with the latest content. Additionally, when playing a video we now display a loading animation prior to the video loading into view. This version also includes a number of stability, performance and bug fixes to improve the overall experience of the App.
