The main reasons I use Alta are to organize my closet in one place, experiment with outfits before wearing them, and get more use out of pieces I already own. I love how it helps me visualize looks and plan outfits more intentionally, especially for different occasions.

This app works fairly well for styling; however, they offer a gift card incentive for finding bugs. I found one, and messaged them- it was fixed, they then replied asking for proof of the bug (which they had fixed within the 4 hours of getting back to me.) They then had a conversation with me without directly addressing my questions about the gift card, and then stopped replying altogether although I was very polite. Based on this, I am not sure how trustworthy their other claims can be (re: privacy, etc. ) If considering this app I would keep looking- for one that is more established and trustworthy.

Always shows you what to buy instead of what to wear (that you already own)When you need to dress before work in the morning, it is useless . Unless you are rich and have 3 hours to go shopping every morning. It was way better before when suggested items were rare. Now it’s flooding my proposed styles… hard pass
A lot to be desired
YYCANDME
You’re better off just picking outfits yourself. It just recommends the same items over and over again. It recommends a cardigan over a shirt jacket which makes no sense, and on a 25 degree day no less. It recommends the same pair of shoes for every outfit despite having 12 uploaded. It consistently recommends heavy sweaters and wool during summer. The outfits are uninspiring, and usually make no sense. When you ask it’s ai what items you’re missing from your closet (a feature that peaked my interest as that would be helpful) it just shows you items you already have from other stores, of which the item is no longer available anyway. This is just more AI slop for people who can’t think for themselves.
