Make ‘Buying Canadian’ your superpower with O SCANada!
I downloaded 3 buy Canadian apps and tested each of them with the same 12 products in our pantry. O SCANada was far and away the most accurate and had the best information on alternative products to shop for. There was only one product that O SCANada could not find available information on, so I searched the product first and then the brand using the app, both of which came up with reliable information as I knew the company was Canadian. I deleted the other two apps and will keep O SCANada as my go to buy Canadian scanning app. I will scan our regularly purchased products in our pantry and fridge prior to shopping to save time in the grocery store so we can scan alternatives while there. Thank you for this thoughtful and helpful app.

Very useful app for determining product origins

Found this app to be very useful. After the recent update (February 17) it’s even better. Sometimes it has trouble reading barcodes on shiny packages but two thumbs up for me. 👍👍 I must add that the app admin was very responsive when I emailed about a missing Canadian product.

Been scanning all the cans in my cupboard since downloading All the No Name products are being so cryptic not giving a location which is typical of Loblaws. I also loaded this app on my wife phone she wanted too get in on the action. Thank for the awesome app

I tried the app thinking the bar code provides sourcing data but that is not the case. When product not recognized, I entered the brand and received AI generated information which is not accurate in regards to the specific sku I verified. While I understand the intent of the app, it can be misleading.

Thank you for the feedback. We are working on an iimproved barcode solution, and working to improve the AI feature so that results will be more accurate.
Added a third way to explore O SCANada! In addition to Search and Scan, you can now Browse by Category to discover Canadian brands more easily.
