Mazaam - The Musical Genius is an edutainment app that uses classical music as an educational tool and contributes to the global development of children ages 4 to 6. Mazaam immerses children in a world populated by funny animals. The challenge? Reunite sea lion families, feed eagles or help boisterous squirrels get to bed… While listening to classical music!

While playing, children visit five playful worlds and discover masterpieces of classical music. They improve musical, cognitive and social skills while exploring the fundamentals of music: pitch, tempo, intensity, timbre and harmony.
FIVE WORLDS TO DISCOVER
1 – World of Squirrels (Pitch)
Music involves low-pitched and high-pitched sounds that create melodies. The child is introduced to the pitch of sounds, accompanied by squirrels bursting with energy!
2 – World of Chameleons (Tempo)
The tempo sets the rhythm of a musical movement. Children must differentiate between slow and fast musical excerpts. By playing with chameleons, they learn to distinguish tempo.
3 – World of Lynx (Intensity)
Children have fun discovering the different degrees of intensity of sounds: soft or loud. As the lynx know, the contrast between these different intensities forms musical nuances.
4 – World of Eagles (Timbre)
Timbre is the “colour” of sound, the way each sound is produced. For example, it lets us distinguish a flute from a violin. Hungry eagles help children become familiar with wind instruments and string instruments.
5 – World of Sea Lions (Harmony)
Musical harmony contains different elements, including consonance and dissonance. Children learn to distinguish between more harmonious or more discordant excerpts with the help of likeable sea lions.

My son loves your game
My son, almiat 4, as well as his best friend (same age) enjoyed your colourful, simple to use, engaging app this past weekend during our rainy weekend. They were glued to it for almost an hour. This weekend I’ll have it ready for him during our 5 hour road trip. Love the classical tunes personally and appreciate the well designed colour schemes aswell the incorporation of animals all together. Great job! Top marks, it’s found it’s place as our only educational music app in our library next to his ABC’s and 123’s collection.

J’ai acheté cette application parce qu’elle était recommandé par un professeur pour qui j’ai beaucoup d’estime. Ma fille de 4 ans a compris rapidement que les petits animaux font systématiquement des signes (ouvrir la bouche, etc.) en guise de réponse... Même pas besoin d’écouter, de réfléchir... J’adorais l’idée , mais ça tombe à plat selon moi. Je ne l’achèterai pas pour ma classe.

Vous avez en effet raison. Au début du jeu plusieurs indices visuels permettent à votre enfant d’identifier quel son correspond à quel animal. Ceci vont cependant disparaitre au fur à mesure qu’il joue, afin qu’il ne puisse se concentrer que sur l’audio.
Cette graduation du niveau de difficulté se base sur les lignes directrices de la Chaire de recherche du Canada en musique et apprentissages. Cette méthode va permettre à votre enfant :
– d’associer un extrait de musique à sa bonne notion musicale
– de repérer des extraits de musique similaires
– de détecter des extraits aux caractéristiques différentes
Votre message nous laisse à penser que nous devrions peut-être proposer un mode « accéléré » pour les enfants qui ont des facilités comme votre fille.
