Room for improvement

This is a good app for notebooks organization for work. The look is great. I enjoy the sections showing on top of each pages. (feature Onenote removed) which hopefully Outline does not remove this feature.
Needs alot of improvement on the OCR for PDF's. PDF's are not clear and cannot copy sections to place into the side notes.
Needs alot of improvement on the link between Safari and Outline to download articles and documents directly to Outline. A few articles download and others do not which can be annoying.
I will continue to use the app a little longer and hopefully there will be an update soon to fix these problems.

Developer Response ,

Hi, thanks for your feedback! We appreciate your thoughts on the design and top-of-page sections. However, we're sorry to hear of your challenges with OCR for PDFs and the Safari-Outline link. Your input has been noted and we will work on improving the app. If you have any further concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to support@outline.app.

So disappointed

I purchased this app after the two week trial period. The trial version ran beautifully. Two hours into purchasing the app for $55, the program crashed 3 times, changes were not saved despite having synced and backed up the file, and the section headers have been incredibly glitchy (opens 2 sections rather than 1 when I try to open a new section). The idea and layout were great but the actual performance falls so below the mark. Truly disappointed about wasting the money. Also, there is no helpline or customer support person to reach out to - major disadvantage. Save yourself the money, look elsewhere.

Syncs well with MSOneNote, but missing essential features

I’m a brand new user to Outline, after organizing my entire work life with MS OneNote. My first impressions:

1 - The interface is well done ice. The layout is easy to use and understand. If you’re a OneNote user there is no learning curve.

2 - It appears to sync very well with .one files saved in Dropbox, which is the reason I purchased it, and why I gave it 4 stars.

3 - It’s has very basic features. Too basic.

I can live without “bells and whistles,” like as having a menu option for inserting screen clippings easily. I can even live without being able to insert hyperlinks. However: You can’t create a basic table.

Outline can view and edit the TEXT within a table that was created in OneNote, but you can’t make a new one. You can’t even copy and paste a table from a previously created OneNote page. The formatting doesn’t copy. That’s a pretty fundamental item to be missing, and I sincerely hope the developpers add it ASAP.

4 - If I did not need to share notebooks with MSOneNote, I don’t think the features in Outline would be worth paying $20 for (at 50% off).
