Pay to use

The only people who use this app is students. How on earth can you introduce a pay feature, we’re all poor! This used to be such a good app too.

Developer Response ,

Hi, thank you for your feedback, and apologies for any confusion regarding the latest updates. The core features of our app (like equation-based problems with step-by-step solutions) are still free of charge, and the app itself is free to download.

But as we grow as a company and add more advanced features (e.g. AI tutorials, contextual hints, word problem solutions), we were bound to introduce a fee. We hope for your understanding in this instance. Drop us a line at support@photomath.com if you have more questions. Cheers!

They got greedy $$$

If there was a zero star rating, I would rate it as that. It was the best ever Math app I’ve ever had until the recent update. $12.99/month for the access of solution explanation feature that was previously free of charge. I’m really disappointed to what happened. I know they need money, but solutions are the only reason why I need this app, and why I’m passing my math classes. It’s time to find a new app.

Developer Response ,

Hi, thank you for your feedback, and we are sorry you feel that our Plus features are not worth its price. I would like to point out though, that our app basically replaces a tutor that can walk you through the problem thanks to our animated AI tutorials, show how the word and geometry problems are solved for supported textbooks, and give a better understanding of theoretical math concepts through our contextual hints. All that is available for the price of a cup of coffee (our monthly charge starts at $5 on a yearly payment plan). At the same time, the core features of our app (like equation-based problems with step-by-step solutions) are still free of charge, and we keep adding new features and math areas to the free version too, for the good of our non-paid users all around the world. The maintenance of our free content would not be possible without the subscription. We hope for your understanding in this instance. Drop us a line at support@photomath.com if you have more questions. Cheers!
