Standard Notes is a private and secure end-to-end encrypted notes app. It allows you to write and sync your notes across all your devices, including your iPhone, iPad, Mac, and web browser.
Private means your notes are end-to-end encrypted, so only you can read your notes. Even we can't read the contents of your notes.

Developers: PLEASE ADD DELETION AFTER 10 LOGIN ATTEMPTS
Developers: *PLEASE* add account deletion after 10 incorrect login attempts. I have found that it is immensely easy to bypass the StandardNote system as it is, using the default iOS password instead of the face, and then trying each number between 0000 - 9999 until correct. *PLEASE* implement a feature so that everything wipes after 10x attempts. StandardNote is perfect as is, this is the only flaw that I can see, but it is a large flaw as it is related to security. I’m a professional writer and I use the software daily! :)
Account Required!
I don’t want to open up an account! Then my note become traceable back to me. I just want a private freaking note app with no online snooping capabilities! Is that too much to ask? No account was required on my other devices and now after this update you’ve gone stupid.

Hi there, the reason we require an account now is that without an account, your notes are not backed up. Users who get a new device or restore their device, and who have not taken manual backups, are then surprised to discover that their notes are no longer present. Because we made it so easy to just open the app and begin taking notes, many users became too comfortable with this and failed to realize their notes were not in fact backed up to any permanent source. We needed to disable this functionality to better protect casual users who may not understand the implications of casual app use.
“There’s something happening here...”
It’s just a basic text editor. Or is it? I don’t think so. It’s more than that but a Prairie Boy like me ain’t gonna even try to explain just exactly what the creators of this app have spent the time and care to offer the masses (that’s me and whoever is and isn’t reading this review) something that ALL OF US should have and use more often.
We take security for granted and we shouldn’t. This app helps us regular folks protect our notes and all the information you squirrel away in various apps that should really have at least some layer of encryption.
It’s stunningly boring to figure out - that’s how easy I found using this app and I’m going to use it lot. But I found the subscription price too high for just personal use but if I had a business? I would pay the asking price in a heartbeat. I’d pay the 5 year subscription fee of $99 in the blink of an eye. And if I had several employees - I’d make them use this app and pay the 5 year fee for each of them as well.
An amazing and extremely thoughtful app that looks ahead to the future of security when the rest of us are oblivious. Kudos to the developers. My only request would be to make a “non-business” subscription rate. I’d pay $2-$3 a month. I’d buy the features out right for $10. Just my suggestion.
This could be the most widely used text editor/word processing app on the App Store if there were more permanent and less pricy ways to upgrade.
