What is this app for?
AnyDay was designed to empower your financial well-being with instant access to your pay. Each day that you work, your employer can enable payment right after your shift, directly to your app. AnyDay is your personalized and secure virtual wallet, paired with a card that syncs directly with your Apple Pay. Whether you’ve earned gratuities, wages, commissions or bonuses, your money is directly deposited in the app through your mobile wallet, and you can spend your funds immediately.
For earnings like tips, bonuses and commissions, your employer can send your money instantly to your wallet. For wages, you can build up a percentage of your earned wages as you complete a shift, each working day. You're in the financial driver’s seat and can choose how much of your wages you’d like to receive, instantly. On payday, you will be paid as you would normally, less the amount of money that you accessed early.

How to get started
Setting up your account is quick and easy. Once you receive your employer invitation, you’ll create your account using either your mobile number or email. You’ll be prompted to create your password and activate your card by scanning its QR code. Your employer can begin loading your wallet instantly with money earned from tips, commissions, etc. If you are using AnyDay for instant access to your wages, you’ll be able to access a portion of your earnings as you earn them, after each working day before payday.

Employers Beware
As context, I am a manager in a large restaurant that employs 185 staff members. I get it. The logistics of distributing cash tips can be a headache. While the Today system looks good on paper, I do not believe this is the right product for anyone. It shifts the burden of tip distribution from us managers to the servers, when it is not theirs to bear. We have been using this service for just under 2 months and have had several issues. Getting everyone set up took ages and multiple phone calls to Today’s support team due to technical errors on their end.
When it comes to security, we have had 6 servers who have had their cards hacked with fraudulent transactions in less than 2 months. Today automatically locks the card to prevent further theft, but as others have mentioned in reviews, it is up to the victims to dispute the transactions first. For a company that is responsible for the flow of so much cash, it is disheartening to see such serious and frequent security issues. The economy sucks right now, and staff members losing their earnings, even if it is just temporary, can be very stress inducing.
When it comes to the app, everything on it is a cash grab. Getting your money off of the card is going to cost you no matter how you try to do it. ATMs that are “surcharge free” are difficult to find, as there is no map to locate them in the app and some ATMs charge you a fee regardless to withdraw from. E-transfers cost you each time, and unlike all the other banks (including small virtual banks that do not charge you), e-transfers take up to a day to send. You can not make any bill payments like you could in previous iterations of the app. Unless you want to pay, you can not get your money off of this app. Any features the app offers that let you do anything with the money on it (such as saving goals) also cost you a subscription fee. Aside from those issues, the app is slow and buggy.
Developers are responding saying that these issues are being taken care of, but if this is a service that is going to charge you for everything you try to use it for, these issues should not be happening in the first place and certainly should be resolved faster. The fact that new versions of this app are being released in order to clean their slate of bad/honest reviews is a red flag that should be considered by any employer thinking about transition to Today.

Fraud and financial crime have picked up across the industry due to the cost of living, but we are implementing security features rapidly to be proactive and stay ahead of the curve. We started our journey at the height of the pandemic when the restaurant industry was at its lowest point. To accommodate restaurants and still deliver value, we did not charge to use our platform. This way, restaurants can still achieve cost and time savings while building their business back up after months of shutdown. Now that the industry is returning to normal, we’re working on ways to diversify our revenue streams and depend less on end-user fees. We’re happy to continue this conversation offline and give you more insights into how we’re innovating and what’s next on our roadmap.
We released a new app because it had to be built on completely different infrastructure that would unlock new and exciting features on our roadmap. Our old app just couldn’t accommodate the growth and innovation we envision for the future.

Update: Since this new version of the Today app was released, 4 of my staff members have had their accounts hacked and emptied (they’ve lost thousands of dollars.) All 4 have yet to receive compensation from Today.
Another Today app (third one now?), still broken. Crashes, buttons that are unlinked, just horrible UX. I think they’re launching new apps to escape the bad reviews. Money still moves slowly, and occasionally just disappears into the banking ether for ages.
Employees, keep in mind that the “rewards” and utility of this app isn’t for the users, we aren’t Today’s customers. The priority is the businesses that use it to distribute tips/wages. They know it’s a flawed system, but it’s primarily flawed on employees end.
On the business end, the tips/wages get sent out, that’s the main concern. Business owners, ✨please✨ reconsider this as an option for your tip or payroll issues. As a manager of a midsized business, it’s horrible. You’ll have a never ending flow of employee complaints. Stick with traditional banking for tip distribution. Bonus complaint: I’m still cheesed that you abruptly imposed the 48hr wait for fund distribution. It slows down my financials every week.

I can’t get a hold of customer service. I have to get into this app for my work and it won’t let me accept the terms and conditions there must be a glitch. I find it very frustrating. I used to like this app but not there is too many nee versions making people switch constantly.
