Don’t buy KENWOOD head units

This app doesn’t work and KENWOOD doesn’t upgrade its head units firmware at all. Bought Dmx 905s and app doesn’t work after they updated the app but not the firmware of headunit.

Dangerous

This app used to be at least usable. With the recent removal of support for Waze and, therefore, the obligatory use of the built-in maps for on-screen mapping, this app is now actually dangerous to road users. Waze gave turn-by-turn voice directions; the WebLink built-in maps require you to take your eyes off the road and read the text directions on screen. Waze kept track of your location and automatically rerouted if you went off course; WebLink does none of this. You actually have to page through the directions one at a time as you action them, leading, inevitably, to the user getting confused about where in the navigation they are. Other poor implementations are the inability to change the temperature to Celsius in the weather app and the requirement to reauthorize app’s communications every time it connects or disconnects from the head unit.
