The App uses the Uyghur Latin Yëziqi (ULY) transiliteration system. It is widely used since 2000 and now officially approved by the Xinjiang Language and Script Committee. You can also select the word in alphabetical order by clicking “uyghur” in the menu bar. When you get a hang of the Uyghur handwritings, your understanding of the Uyghur culture will improve naturally. Uyghur is the language of everyday communication for nearly 8 million people, most of them Muslims in Xinjiang of China. Written in a modified Arabic script, Uyghur is closely related to Uzbek. The standard Uyghur is understood everywhere in Xinjiang . 维吾尔语简称维语，是一种突厥语族语言。为大多数维吾尔族的母语，有1000万到1500万使用者，是中华人民共和国新疆维吾尔自治区法定的官方语言之一。维吾尔语的使用者主要集中于中国新疆，中亚的哈萨克斯坦、吉尔吉斯斯坦和乌兹别克斯坦也有维吾尔语分布，其他许多国家亦有维吾尔语移民社区。作为新疆的官方语言和新疆各少数民族通行语言，维吾尔语被广泛的应用在广播、电视和出版物等各个领域中。

这款软件有维语词典, 而且手把手教你如何书写维文以及如何发音. 应该说功能很丰富的. 这是我收到的五星好评: Thank you so much for making an Uyghur/English dictionary. Very informative and helpful app. I’ve been looking everywhere for an app like this. Only suggestion: make it a little easier to find the actual dictionary- having to scroll down under Culture to find it took me a while at first. That being said it is quite expansive dictionary and allowing users to add to it themselves is a great idea. Please keep the updates coming!
