Python Starter is a focused coding and learning environment for beginners who want to learn Python by writing and running real code.
Write Python programs, provide standard input, and view program output and exception tracebacks - all within the app. Python Starter includes CPython 3.14 and its standard library for local execution on iPhone and iPad. Your source code, input, run results, and program output are processed locally and are not uploaded to developer servers.
Learn by Writing Code
The included Python Basics course provides 20 free lessons in four sections covering:
- Your first Python program, variables, numbers, and arithmetic
- Decisions, comparisons, loops, and small programming projects
- Functions, strings, lists, and dictionaries
- List transformations, the standard library, sorting, searching, exceptions, and a final Grade Analyzer project
Each lesson includes an explanation, example code, an editable exercise, expected output, and automatic local validation.

Python Starter includes one editable local workspace for free. Python Starter IDE Pro is an optional one-time purchase that unlocks multiple local projects and complete project management features.
The iPhone and iPad runtime supports Python's standard library and the native extensions included with the app. Python Starter does not provide pip installation or guarantee compatibility with arbitrary third-party native wheels and packages.
Whether you are writing your first script or practicing essential Python concepts, Python Starter provides a simple place to learn through code.
