Captivating and worth every second
This is a brilliantly executed text-based game. As the developer mentioned in the commentary, they were focusing not on 'outer appearance, but inward significance', and that was exactly what I as the end user experienced. What started out to be simplistic tasks such as gathering wood and meat without much knowledge of anything else would, over time, turn into a story of a growing community trying to stay alive in what seems to be a post-apocalyptic world / some No Man's Land.
The story develops slowly, and the more you progress, the more you discover what is happening, and how you have to kill or be killed. From the beginning, it is beautifully set in a bleak tone, and it only becomes darker & more intense as you go along.
I didn't regret my purchase & would recommend it to those who like to immerse themselves in their imagination to boost the imagery of text based games. Kudos to the developers!
100 percent voice over accessible game with multiple endings
This game seems to have a mind craft feel to it only it is text based and completely accessible with voice over. I have just completed one of the endings, but i get the feeling that this game has multiple endings.
When i first started playing, i was wondering what the point of the game was. I was thinking that you certainly wouldn’t pay for a game where all you do is to build things. I am glad to have been proven wrong and will certainly play this again. Thank you for making your games accessible to everyone :)
I am overwhelmed
I just finished this. Apparently I took 300 odd minutes, but it was more or less a full day, I was so enthralled in this world. I was the darkness and the light rushed into me. The builder was a friend and we built a fire and then a village, and then the darkness creeps in again. And my god, it’s eery, that thirst for more... the addiction, the curiosity!
And now, I’m so emotional that I’ve finished it. It’s such an experience. As the creators say, it’s something you can only feel once; so you ADR virgins, strike that tinder, light that fire and embrace every moment of your first time.
