Apple "New apps and games we love" (on the Mac), March 2017

Apple "Staff Favourite" in the UK (on iOS), Jul/Aug 2010

Support for this old version (5) of Account Tracker will end on 31st December 2020, as it has been replaced by Account Tracker Pro (now at version 6).

Account Tracker is a powerful personal finance app that helps you track spending and monitor balances across multiple accounts. Its clean, intuitive user interface, and features such as alerts, bill reminders, budgets, reports and full multi-currency support, make it easy to take control of your finances.

The Pro version adds support for automatic backups, database syncing, 3D Touch, Apple Watch, enhanced transaction searching, split screen multitasking, and more. If you already have Account Tracker, use the upgrade bundle for a discount.

Also check out Account Tracker for Mac, now available on the Mac App Store. It requires Account Tracker Pro (to sync over iCloud or Dropbox), and macOS Sierra (10.12) or above.

Best personal finances app I've found

This app is incredible, and over the many years of use, I couldn't imagine life without it. My partner and I use it to track all of our shared and individual accounts, including loans, current accounts, credit cards, loans, savings and pensions. All transactions, recurring payments, and transfers between accounts are easy to set up, and the layout is really logical, clear and easy to understand.

Probably the best feature is the way it deals with foreign transactions. You can enter a transaction in any currency, double tap, and it gives the value in Sterling (it may need a small adjustment when the transaction is properly processed by the bank a few days later, but it's only ever a few pence out from the final figure, but I suppose the app has no control over exchange rate movements).

If I had any criticisms, it would be that perhaps it could use a cosmetic makeover, as it hasn't changed much in 8 years. This is more than outweighed by its features, however.

Quite simply the best app I own

I have used this app to manage my finances for years, it is easily the best and most used app on all of my devices.

The development of the app is well considered and updates are implemented in thoughtful ways to ensure that all new features introduced consistently make you think “yeah, that was a good idea!”. The developer has also been attentive to suggestions and feature requests over the years (not that you will need any now, as everything you could ever need to manage your finances is probably already here). There are never any bugs in the updates either so the testing done must be of the highest order - everything is always rock solid - I never have to think “should I do a back up before updating this?”.

I use the iCloud synching option and it works perfectly, keeping four devices in perfect harmony no matter what odd number of transactions I input into various devices during the day.

If you are looking for an intuitive way to help manage your finances, either for simple single-account cash flow management or like me for multiple-account tracking across multiple devices, this is what you need.

The perfect financial account management app.

Not one for writing reviews but feel I owe Graham a thank you. Simple and good looking interface, easy to use, and for a born again personal finance nerd, horribly addictive. Started tracking my finances in 2016 when I was thousands in debt and now have more than several thousands in savings all thanks to the self discipline this app has given me. Great to be able to see reports to track savings goals, help balance incoming and outgoing expenses, and view categorised breakdowns of spending. Would love more reporting features one day - something like average category spending by day/week/month/year over a given time - but really great nonetheless.
