An excellent tool and essential to my work pipeline.
I can honestly say this one piece of software is the creative and organisational heart of the current project I am leading on, which involves large scale 360 video projection and video mapping onto a full size midget submarine. I am utilising all aspects of the creative suite to create the content but it is the smaller touches that are the revelation, for example, I am using the capture app on a iPad Pro to capture textures and PS brush elements to paint in cabling, pipework background detail that has saved me a ton of 3D modelling hours. This app works seamlessly with my desktop apps and I can ship stuff around my various devices as I need them. They are always there and has allowed me to build a central library of drag and drop content that can be shared and accessed anywhere. Brilliant stuff.
Amazing
Amazing work Adobe. Money well spent for creative cloud. It is daunting when opening apps like premiere pro for first time and seeing what feels like 2,000 options staring right back at you. I have started a course on Udemy with Phil Ebiner and it is amazing so far.
Highly recommend especially with Epidemic Sounds. If you have those too and extra storage on either icloud, OneDrive, Hard drive etc…
If you have all that your gonna go way far!
My Adobe experience
I took advantage of the Black Friday Adobe Creative Cloud offer a couple of weeks ago. The creative cloud app seems to be an attempt to simplify what Adobe have to offer and promises to pretty much cover everything for everyone. There is a lot to choose from but none of it is intuitive or easy to use. Every App has an incredibly steep learning curve, the apps aren’t particularly clear about what they do and how you can use them for work or creativity, they all kind of cross over and feel mixed up and overlapping somehow. Just figuring out how each app fits your needs is difficult before you even start figuring out how to use each individual app.
I’ve got a 12 month subscription and I feel like that’s how long it’s gona take for me to understand the mammoth learning curve ahead.
I hope it’s going to be worth my time and money but right now I’m not convinced.
