AOL Mail, News, Weather, Video 17+

I’ve had this email address for 15 years when I first got broadband. It has always been free to use. In the past the app has been quite outdated and sometimes slow. I was thinking of changing to another email provider but due to the recent update i will continue to use it. The current app is very user friendly, much quicker to load and connect with links and easier to delete. In the past you had to delete emails one by one. Now you can delete as many as you want at a time. It groups emails into all received on a particular day week or month and using the search facility to find emails from a specific contact is much quicker. I find the background to be better to look at as well. All in all five stars rating. I haven’t checked for any other new features. But very happy so far. I don’t know if the changes are similar on the website as haven’t checked.

I’ve used AOL since I was 8. I got it so I could have Facebook and Runescape. There’s a bit of nostalgia for you. This app, when I first got it was great! 5 stars. Woo hoo! End of story easy to use app, no bugs, perfect... oh maybe not so perfect. Every time I open the app one of two things happens, 1. There is a problem with my account and I’m logged out, prompted to sign in... which never works, or two I’m logged out with the same non working sign in page. So I have to close/kill the app sometimes twice or three times and reopen it and then I can access my email, no longer signed out. Today, a more irritating bug cropped up. Blue screen. Four times I had to kill the app to be greeted by the second example non working log out page. A further two more killings of the app and I was finally able to look at my emails to see I didn’t have any new emails. If the app worked properly I’d give it 5 stars but I’ve had these problems for over a year now and it’s not great. When it is fixed, the star count will be adjusted. If it’s not fixed soon, I’ll have to swap to Gmail. I like Gmail, it’s got my other childhood account... not a very professional email address though. I have several email addresses. AOL was the first email address I had. It was recommended to me by a friend. It is always my first choice when I need to give an email address to anyone. I hate getting spam. With AOL I get less spam in my inbox. AOL sorts it out and puts it in the spam box.
I think that AOL’s security is second to none, even though I have been hacked once. It was dealt with quickly and professionally.
So that is why it is my number one for email. I have been using AOL for over 15 years now, and only having 1 problem during those years is pretty impressive.
That’s is why it’s my number 1 choice for email. Thank you, AOL.
