Does the job
It does the job, but it hasn't been updated for over 1 year. Could be a lot better
Used it for years, still works just fine.
Probably the worst thing that you can say about Apple Remote Desktop is that it hasn’t changed in years. There’s really no difference between this version and the one that was HUGELY expensive when it was delivered to you in a box. However, that’s also a plus; this is a solid remote desktop and system management application which has plenty of useful features for remote management of machines beyond the usual screen control. Package installation, screen blanking and locking, multiple simultaneous display monitoring (that always looks cool), asset reporting, messaging with users… there’s plenty in here. I’d be stuck without it.
too complicated for basic users.
If you’re buying this hoping for something like Team Viewer, please don’t waste your money. I’m a one-man band business owner with several Macs spread between home and business premises. I just wanted a service like Team Viewer (who now charge a ridiculous amount of money for their service) so I could login and work remotely a cuple of times a month. This App is just too complicated for a low level user like me. It’s massively confusing to set-up and the ability to see and operate computers over the internet seems to require a degree in networking from the University of You’ll Want To Smash It.
I called Apple Support within 10 minutes of purchase to cancel and refund. It’s just too complicated to use.
