Sensational app since its arrival. At first it was sparse but has greatly improved and with the inclusion of other games combined with the ability to have live notifications on the iPhone AND the Apple Watch, you’re always in the know of your favourite sports . Now how all that’s left is for the Apple Vision Pronto gain live viewing of sports while the play. I wanna see around the pitch from the comfort of my home when I can’t be out at the stadium. It’s worth it subscription ….come on Apple….do it
Good but can be better for UK fans
samhayes64
So this app is actually really great, gets right to the point with the scores, standings and some stats from the game without sports I’m not interested in clogging up my Home Screen or useless adds etc, however, because a lot of the sports I follow in particular are US sports and I live in the UK the time zone is different, now it used to be that regardless of when the game started it would stay in the date of the game (eg: a game starting on Monday 1st at 3am would show in Mondays game slate) everything was neat and tidy, there has since been an update that now puts the game in the date of when the game is due to be played UK time, so that same 3am game on Monday is now showing as being played on Tuesday instead, so this messes up how the games are shown etc. It used to be ok but since this change it’s gotten unusable (for me, and I’m sure other UK sports fans)
Really basic and barebones, not a patch on Flashscore

This app has a long way to go before being a real option against the likes of the Flashscore app. Barely enough teams, barely enough sports, it’s barebones and like a beta app right now. Seriously needs a wide overhaul of functionality and features to be acceptable. Also needs to implement the swipe features as standard in iOS, I don’t know why Apple hasn’t included this in the app. Needs integration with the News app for sports news and podcasts, quality of life improvements overall. However the one advantage Apple has is the ability to add innovative features and functionality such as Live Activities to the Dynamic Island natively at source, something the competitors on the App Store cannot do. If Apple adds this essential feature which allows live scores to update instantly on the Dynamic Island, this app will instantly become a must have for sports updates.
Embarrassing

This is a deeply frustrating app, that is emblematic of the deep seated issues within Apple, no matter how petty that ultimately sounds. This app is undeniably half baked. It provides a mix of various leagues and results, omitting key matches, competitions and results. Take football (soccer!) as an example. The Premier League is listed, but all other competitions that the same clubs compete in are omitted - inclusive of domestic trophies and European competitions. Complete lack of consistency and only partially meeting the needs of supporters. I can excuse the absence of certain competitions if there is scope for development, but to omit key iOS features is a humiliation for the team responsible. The ‘Dynamic Island’ was sold as a way to keep up with live information - with sports being a prime example in the marketing. For Apple’s own sports app to fail to integrate with such a key feature is astounding. I didn’t understand how this was considered in any way suitable for release. I’ve reverted to third party apps (like FotMob and NFL) that have actually bothered to use the functionalities that iOS provides. I suggest that Apple either pull the app until it meets basic standards or consider whether they actually care anymore about integration across their hardware and software offerings.
• Now you can follow Men’s and Women’s Golf on Apple Sports. Keep up with every PGA and LPGA tournament with live leaderboards, round-by-round scorecards for every golfer and real-time updates in the app, widgets and Live Activities.
• The football lineup is growing, with Copa del Rey, Coppa Italia, Coupe de France and DFB-Pokal.
• Now it’s even easier to keep up with the action during tennis matches, with real-time stats.
