Powered by National Rail Enquiries, Railboard is the best app for National Rail train times and platform numbers. Plus, you can save lots of money by finding super-cheap split train tickets on the app.
With Split Tickets, our clever algorithms find combinations of tickets that together offer the same journey but at a lower price than a regular ticket.
This is done by splitting regular train tickets at calling points along the journey. So instead of one ticket from A to C, you have two tickets from A to B and B to C. However, you stay on the same train as normal. There is no requirement to alight and re-board. And we do all the hard work to find them for you!

Just brilliant
Been looking for a good rail app for a long time . The official Rail Enquiries one is a mess and not been updated in forever , used Train times for a long time and the one by Agent which sadly stopped working. So hard to find a simple train time app for a busy commuter. Moovit is very comprehensive but too much detail and too complex to be using for daily commuting over several rail lines. I would pay for this can’t understand why it’s free and I can’t see any ads to pay to remove. Great work guys, keep it simple and quick to use for people on the go. Add an option in the settings to contribute somehow you deserve something for your work. ( unless I have missed it!?)

The app is free because the long term plan is to sell train tickets, from which we'd be able to make money from commission.
But don't worry! A simple and easy user interface for commuters will always be our top priority 👍 Seeing ticket prices would be an optional feature only.
Really excellent app with loads of useful features
I downloaded Railboard after Train Times stopped working and it's a joy to use. It's very quick and the interface is well designed with useful visual prompts like colours to indicate if trains are on time. Navigation is very easy and you can quickly choose live or planner views, along with an option to go straight into saved routes in planner or live views. Live view shows you the whole route and planner shows you the stops between your station and the destination. It's also very easy to save stations, look at recent stations, stations nearby, or search. Great app, highly recommended!

Best train times app by a country mile
Fantastic, clean, and simple UI make using this app quick and easy. Information on whether the trains are on time, delayed, or cancelled is excellently distinguished using a traffic light colour scheme, with alerts and notices clearly identified in the banner area. Plenty of information on stops and expected/actual times available when selecting a service.
Makes the National Rail Enquiries app look and feel even more dated than it actually is. Only missing functionality is the off-handing to the train provider should you wish to purchase tickets, but not a problem for most.

Also we are currently working on making it possible to buy tickets directly through the app, as an optional feature. We hope to release it at some point next year.
