What’s New
Version 1.38.0
Say goodbye to those pesky cookie banners! Thanks to Shannon, we've added a smarter way to handle cookie consent prompts:
- When cookie blocking is enabled, Arc Search will automatically try to deny those annoying cookie consent prompts for you.
- If we can't reliably deny the cookie prompt, we'll leave it alone so you can manually interact with it – this fixes an issue where our previous cookie blocker sometimes prevented websites from scrolling properly. Now you can keep browsing without any unexpected behavior.
Thanks for using Arc Search!
Ratings and Reviews
Nearly perfect… but proper sync needs to arrive sooner than later
Absolutely love the Mac version of Arc so was stoked to find it available for my phone. Then I got slightly confused… two different apps available that appear to be Arc browsers from the same company…
One that actually syncs with your desktop browser but appears to be the one they’re leaving behind, and another that doesn’t sync in any way with desktop but is the one they want as a flagship going forward.
To make things more confusing, there are features of both the browsers that I really like! Arc Search seems snappy, the Browse For Me function is the most crazy useful feature i’ve ever used, and I love the general UI and experience. It does feel very barebones though and hopefully we will get more customisation options soon.
The biggest issue is that it is in no way connected to my Mac browser, and I have to flip over to their OG Arc browser app to get to any of my bookmarks etc.
Please guys, I love everything about Arc and your overall mission, but please get the best parts of these two browsers combined!
(And also the weekly update for Arc Search this week… is the same as last weeks? I literally look forward to Thursdays knowing i’ll get some cool new stuff added when I update, hopefully next week will be an actual update!)
My favourite! But Arc call can be improved 🤖
Alright this is by far the best browser ever built and everything is a treat to use.
However I do have an issue or at least something that I wish the Arc team fixes soon.
Arc Call, this feature is an absolute win! It's an amazing concept but fails right at the start, why?
Well, When you launch the call feature there's a slight delay before the app picks up your voice and then misses some of the first bits of information given to it, also, it takes a while after you stop talking to launch the request, this is frustrating because the app is constantly listening to you before it sends the queries, but if it hears anything and I mean any background noise, it sends that to the queries also.
Now once the search gets sent, if you say anything whilst it's thinking, it stops your request because it thinks you want to speak to it and then cancels the initial querie! Argh! See my frustration!!!??
Please fix this, I really love this feature but it's frustrating to use!!! 😭😭😭😭
Very good app, but customer service is poor
I love this app, especially the “Browse for me” feature which searches the top results to create a website to answer your specific search. However, that and some other features require you to set Arc as your default browser. Personally, I like this app for general searches, but if I open links my friends send me or to sign into accounts, I’d prefer to use Safari so want that as the default. I don’t see why Arc needs to be default in order to enable some more features. The app is great and is definitely worth 4, if not 5, stars - however, I emailed customer service a while ago and they are yet to reply. It wasn’t an urgent question but a sooner reply would have been nice.
Edit: you do not need the app set as your default anymore to use the AI features which I am grateful for, so I have increased my rating to 4⭐️
