Aura Frames 4+

We were given this for Christmas by our son & daughter in law, who live in Australia. It enables us to see photos & videos of them & our grandchildren on a daily basis as we have put the screen in our Kitchen.

My husband has Dementia & he really enjoys seeing the photos of our family & friends every time he sits down to have a meal. It allows him to stay connected & to comment on what he’s seeing. As he can no longer use his WhatsApp it’s a way for him to see new photos instantly. I’ve put photos of our travels as well as familiar places to keep him engaged & if he forgets who people are, I can remind him. We talk about holidays we’ve had & who people are & that’s a really useful way to help his declining long term memory.

The App & screen were easy to download & use. I can honestly say that it helped to reduce the huge physical distance between - it makes them seem closer & has given us so much enjoyment since we first used it. Brilliant idea!

Just bought this for my father-in-law who is bed bound and can't easily see the family - some are overseas too. I have been favourably impressed as I have played with the app and become more savvy with it.

I would say it did come nicely packaged and very suitable as a gift. I did not realise until afterwards that I did not even have to take the Aura out of the box to "preload" and setup. But it was nice to see it working anyway!

Niggles: there is a means to adjust the appearance - someone commented on this not always working on the display and I've seen the same. Usually swiping back and forth clears it but it needs to be auto.

Would be great to have the option of captions to provide context to a picture that can literally pop up from the other side of the world!

I have also seen some pictures seem to be "uploading" forever and the information on what and why is not there.

I am still going 5 stars though, with faith that Aura will constantly work to improve these bugs.

We recieved this gift for Christmas from our daughter, her partner and four grandchildren- not great with technology but this was easy peasy. Our daughter lives in Canada,and while we visit as often as we can, these photos and videos just bring them all a little bit closer.
Would definitely recommend, we love it
