Not very good

Enjoy the magazine but frustrated by the app. First, you can no longer buy individual magazines, just a subscription. Also, pages don’t fit on my iPad, I have to scroll up and down, and I haven’t worked out how to see a double page all together

I understand the need to reintroduce paid-for content, so the low rating in this review in no way reflects the new charges. In fact, I would have happily paid for issues in the format of the old app - not the 'new' app though!

This app has taken what was a reasonably well-designed iPhone-friendly news reading app and thrown it out the window. What we have now is a (barely) glorified PDF reader of the print magazine, not even optimised for the iPhone 6. This means that you have to zoom in to read the text, and end up with images stuck spanning 'pages'. It is in many ways worse than visiting the Auto Express website and viewing the content for free (with Safari's excellent Reader view).

Not only that, but back issues that I had previously downloaded now have a £2.29 fee attached to them (thanks for deleting my content), and the deceitful one-year subscription is more than twice the price of the six-month, which in turn is a penny more than double the three-month - so why would you go for anything other than the shortest period?!

Why o why?

What a joke of an "improvement'!! The free version used to lack all the features of a regular paper version but at least worked on my iPad Pro. This one doesn't work properly on any mobile device. I'd be more than happy to even pay for the magazine if only it worked properly. There are better PDF magazines out there, that work! Developers please take note and fix it soon. And the maths of paying more for an annual subscription than a six monthly one is absolutely laughable. Could you not use a calculator?
