How to start using Bridgefy:

1.- Turn on Bluetooth
2.- Open Bridgefy, making sure you have an Internet connection (only needed the very first time you open it)
3.- Go to the Broadcast tab
4.- Start sharing messages with people that are within 330 ft. (100 mts) from you

You don't need to add contacts to Bridgefy. The app automatically detects other Bridgefy users around you and lets you chat using the Broadcast section.

Please keep in mind Broadcast messages can be seen by anybody nearby.

bug fixes and improvements

Re-install process broken

Tried to install on new phone (my old one was stolen and i no longer have access to it, obviously). Easy to create an unverified account but try then verifying that... ohhh no. You’ll get a pop up saying that because an account is already associated with that number (yeah, mine, on the stolen phone) you need to first log out & do it again. But click on the log-out button it helpfully provides within that pop up and when you try the process again you’ll have EXACTLY the same message when you try to verify! This problem has been around the entire time I’ve tried (about a month) and no-one responds to the ‘support’ email. Useless. Try FireChat instead.

Nice idea, but just doesn’t work

I’ve tried - I really have. I’ve tried combinations of different phones (iPhone 8, SE, Galaxy S10, S20, Note9) - none of them can see each other with this app. It just doesn’t work. Deleting (there’s other free apps on the store that manage reliable Bluetooth comms quite happily for use on airplanes - this one isn’t it).

Must be online to signup, then can't find others

Regularly suspends what you are doing to play a video ad (online again). The irritating full screen video ads regularly crash so you can't do anything other than quit the app and start all over again. It never finds anyone in the area (even though it's supposed to), so then the only way to use is it to post a public chat, which others can see. So pretty useless. And awkward to tell if you are chatting 1-2-1 or publicly.

Alerts don't work either.
