Verification process is useless and over the top

The verification for the setup is way too complicated and it had issue accepting payment from multiple cards. Support staff sounded helpful on the phone but that was after the number hanging up on me and sending me straight to a full mailbox, or not ringing at all. Was meant to receive email confirming payment but never did and my support ticket was marked as closed.

Finally was able to make payment but now it fails on ID verification and again having troubles getting through to support. Honestly a terrible experience so far and I haven’t even been able to hire out a bike yet!

Mediocre app, terrible service

The app does work, I guess, but the service is awful. Hired a bike from Portsmouth Harbour, took several attempts to unlock the door, rushed for the train so didn’t check the bike. Unfolded the bike at Waterloo and not only was the rear tire flat, but the tire was obviously perished. Found a local bike shop and got the tire pumped up. It lasted a day so I thought I’d chance a second day’s hire. Sadly the next day I made it half way to work before the tire popped. Had to take it and leave it at a bike shop. They called later in the day to say the tire needed replacing, which I declined to have them do. It cost me £15 to get just the inner tube inflated enough to get me back to Waterloo. I had a similarly frustrating experience returning the bike back to the racks. Watch out for the back tire on the bike in bay one at Portsmouth Harbour, I guess. Have since ended up buying a burner bike to leave at Waterloo. Leave the Bromptons to the Lycra clad middle aged white dudes.

Never again ...

I rented a Brompton Bike for the first time today with a view to potentially buying one. I found the rental process really really poor and will not be buying or renting ever again. When I collected my bike (apparently) the collection was not registered on the system and so I had no way of returning the bike later in the day. When, after a helpful telephone call to try and understand why I couldn’t return the bike, my collection was then registered, I discovered that all the bays at my local drop off point had already been pre-booked (presumably be people whose collections had been registered). I then had to drop my bike off at another drop off point elsewhere in London. None of this was adequately explained on the app. I am now walking home and hope to be back by 9pm.
