Cambridge Connect 4+

I’ve had my Stream magic 6 now for six/seven years sound quality stunning. Have the top of the range Cambridge audio amp, & very good speakers. But have always had issues/problems with the app & playing music, I have now purchased an Apple HomePod & signed up to Apple Music. The choice of music, ask Siri & she plays it, absolutely amazing, a new experience. But guess what nothing downloaded to my phone/iPad will play on the Stream magic, so disappointing. For god sake move this app forward, & speak to Apple, I want to be able to here Apple Music in my main quality system. PLEASE. !!!

Now first off I know little if anything about media serving from NAS so maybe there are limitations there but overall this app is pretty disappointing considering the price of the CXN, a mainly software based device.
Why can’t it be set to a default folder on the NAS and just open there rather than having to click through folders each time? Had to do a lot of messing around in Twonky server to get it to work at all. No Search function? Overall pretty dated appearance.
I use an app on my iPhone called MusicStreamer to stream from NAS via phone to Bluetooth speakers around the house. Once you point it at any folder on the NAS it just works, great easy to use interface, album or artist view, search function. I didn’t even need to know I had a Twonky media server on the NAS, it just worked whichever folder you pointed it at and it only costs £3.99!!
I’m sure the people at CA could do a better job of this, makes an expensive purchase a bit disappointing.

Basic premise of this app is flawed.
1. The app has to retrieve the entire music library list every time it’s opened, and cannot retain data under the screen lock or if another app is opened.
2. Data retrieval is truly painfully slow, for 1.4TB music library can take up to 3-4mins, takes about twice as long or longer, than the MinxXi with handset control rather than App control.
3. Without being able to retain any data on either streamer or app, it’s just hopeless if you have a large music library.
4. The App no longer has the ability to wake my WD NAS drive. Unlike previous App version.
6. MinxXi support has IME been very poor, and very judgemental - always the user is at fault, and never the broken on-of switch for example. No intention of trying to go through that experience again with this “upgrade” app. My 2x MinxXi have been PXed for a different brand now, after this disastrous App upgrade has rendered them effectively unusable.
