Description

Count my breaths is an app created for pet owners who have a pet living with heart disease.

Heart disease in dogs is nearly as common as with humans. Even though diet and exercise do play a role, most cases cannot be avoided. The exception is with heartworm disease which is responsible for about 13% of all dogs with heart disease. It is recommended to take your dogs to your veterinarian for routine checkups at least once a year and every 6 months for older dogs.

Fast breathing when resting or sleeping (more than 30 breaths per minute) is a sign of heart disease or heart failure. Home breathing rate should be evaluated at least once per day in all pets that have heart disease or heart failure and are now taking medications such as furosemide and pimobendan.

This app is still in its very early stages and is being developed because we have a pet with this condition ourselves. We would love to get feedback and feature requests as we grow this app in the future.

We do also have a web app although records do not transfer between the two at this time. If you would like to use the browser version of the app please visit us at https://countmybreaths.com

Amazing app 🥺

My cat was recently diagnosed with congestive heart failure caused by enlargement of the heart, so we really need to monitor her condition and this app is perfect!

A suggestion: would it be possible to add a “notes” feature, where you can type out a note or add a note to documented breathing records? For instance, her heart rate is sometimes high (in the low 40s) after a scare or taking medication, so it would be helpful to add a note explaining the context, as I typically monitor her after a particularly stressful event occurs.

Thank you so much for making this app, it’s been so wonderful. 🥺🥺✨✨💜💜
